Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is believed that saving money is crucial for everyone, including young people, for their future I partially agree with the statement, as saving money may unlock a lot of opportunities for one's future.
Firstly, saving money is always benifitial, it gives you the freedom of taking risks. For instance, a person who has enough amount in his savings can take risk to expand his business or to start another one. Similarly, saving allows you to buy things anytime you need. For example, apple release its new iphone every year, many people buy that item after a long time it is released but if you have saved enough money you could pre book that particular model. Saving also protects you during emergency or in time of crises, consider that you don't save money but anyhow you losse all your business money, in such time you can utilize your savings to meet your financial expenses or to invest in another business, that is why saving money is important and everyone should save money for better future.
However, saying money is not always practical or benifitial, espically for young people. I believe saving money takes away the freedom of having fun, which means you can't fully live in the moment. young people should utilize their money to travel, to enjoy expensive meals, to have fun with there friends, as all these things helps in there grooming and allows them to make memories.
In concluison, saving money does guarantee a safe future and is an intelligent backup plan to navigate through sudden financial crises, but sometimes it takes
away the freedom of being you.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you partially agree, valuing savings as protection and opportunity while recognising that young people also need to enjoy life. The examples about using savings to expand a business and cope with financial emergencies are relevant, and you address both sides of the question. However, some points are less fully developed. The iPhone example mainly illustrates being able to buy a new product, rather than explaining why saving is important for everyone’s future. The opposing view—that spending on travel and meals supports personal growth and creates memories—would also benefit from a specific example or clearer explanation. Develop these ideas more evenly and connect each example directly to your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph supporting saving, a contrasting paragraph, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Similarly,” and “However” help signal the direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weakened by long sentences that combine several points, particularly the sentence beginning “Saving also protects you during emergency.” The conclusion also ends abruptly after “sometimes it takes away the freedom of being you,” without fully restating how you balance saving and spending. Use clearer sentence boundaries, organise each paragraph around one main idea, and make references such as “that item” more precise so the reader can follow the links between examples and claims.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for discussing personal finance and lifestyle, including “financial expenses,” “backup plan,” “navigate,” and “freedom.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, several spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural expressions reduce accuracy, including “benifitial,” “loose” (intended as “lose”), “espically,” and “grooming” for personal development. Some phrases are also awkward, such as “enough amount in his savings” and “saying money,” which appears to mean “saving money.” Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your vocabulary more precise without requiring unnecessarily complex words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including conditional forms such as “if you have saved enough money” and clauses introduced by “which means.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems are noticeable. The opening joins two complete sentences without suitable punctuation after “future,” and the sentence beginning “Firstly, saving money is always…” also joins clauses with a comma. There are agreement and form issues in “all these things helps” and “you could pre book,” as well as inconsistent capitalisation at the start of “young people.” Use full stops or semicolons to separate complete ideas, check subject–verb agreement, and proofread sentence openings. More consistently controlled complex sentences would strengthen the response.
