Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is often argued that peple, including young people should save money for the future. I largely agree with this statment becuase saving money specially from young age can be benificial for future. Like it can be utilized in unforeseen conditions, medical emergencies or future goals. With all that young ones should also spend on there skills and learning.

One imprtant reason to save money is that it help people to face unexpected financial emergencies like sudden medical emergency , unemployment or other unplanned financial expenses. People who use to save movey can easily get through such situations without any pressure or borrowing money from others. For instance, if a young indivual losses his job, the saved money will help him to get food and other necassary stuff while looking for new job.

Furthermore, if they have future goals like getting admission to a university or buying a house, saving money from young age can help them to achieve them and also teach them financial skils. But saving money should not be the top most priority of young people, they should also focus of their health and spending money on their skills, learning new courses and availing better opportunities as these things might look like investment for the time but are more rewarding that money in long terms.

In conclusion I would say saving money is a good habit for young people as well, as it teach them financial responsiblity, help them pass difficult days, or pay for bigger dreams. But meanwhile they should not ignore spending on learning new skills or availing opportunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you largely agree that saving is important, while recognising that young people should also invest in their skills and learning. You address the main parts of the question and support your view with relevant reasons, including emergencies, unemployment, university and buying a house. The example of a young person losing a job helps make the emergency point concrete. The discussion is generally extended enough to explain why saving matters, though the future-goals point is less developed: you name goals but do not explain how saving might help achieve them in practice. To strengthen the response further, develop that example and clarify how to balance saving with spending on education and opportunities.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your position, two body paragraphs develop reasons and qualifications, and the conclusion restates your view. Progression is easy to follow, with signposts such as “One important reason,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion.” The contrast introduced by “But” also helps show that you do not see saving as the only priority. Some links are less smooth or precise, however. For example, “With all that” is an awkward transition, and the long sentence beginning “But saving money should not be the top most priority” combines several ideas, making their relationship harder to follow. Use more precise transitions and divide that sentence so each point has a clear focus.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financial emergencies,” “unemployment,” “future goals,” and “financial responsibility,” and these choices make your main ideas understandable. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “unforeseen conditions” and “availing better opportunities.” However, the range is limited in places, and several spelling errors—such as “peple,” “statment,” “becuase,” and “necassary”—are noticeable. Some word combinations are also unnatural or imprecise: “use to save money” and “top most priority” do not express the intended meaning naturally. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for finance, education, and planning; this will make your vocabulary more reliable and flexible.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including conditional phrasing in “if a young individual loses his job” and a longer contrast between saving and investing in skills. The overall meaning is usually clear, but errors in sentence structure and basic grammar are frequent enough to reduce accuracy. For example, “saving money … can be beneficial” is followed by the fragment “Like it can be utilized,” while “it help people” and “it teach them” have subject–verb agreement errors. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction, as in “looking for new job.” Practise checking each sentence for a complete main clause, a correctly matched subject and verb, and necessary articles. Breaking up long sentences will also help you control grammar and punctuation.
