Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that young people should save, and you give two relevant reasons—emergencies and education costs. The examples about people living abroad and students in Pakistan help connect these points to real situations. However, the ideas remain limited and are not fully explained; for example, the emergency example is difficult to follow and does not show clearly how saving solves the problem. The education point is more specific, but could explain how saving supports a student’s future. The response also falls 16 words short of the required minimum, so there is less space to develop your reasons. Add fuller explanations and a more precise example for each main point.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Each body paragraph focuses on one reason, which gives the reader a basic route through your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, particularly in the emergency paragraph, where the move from people abroad to students purchasing useful items is abrupt. Linking phrases such as “The other important reason” are understandable but repetitive and mechanical. Some references are also unclear, as in “which help them to manage,” where it is not immediately clear what “which” refers to. Organise each paragraph around one developed point, use clearer links between example and explanation, and avoid introducing loosely connected ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “emergency situation,” “educational expenses,” “part time job” and “tuition fees.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “important,” “save money,” “manage” and “difficult.” Some combinations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “in abroad,” “pay education fees” and “feel free,” which may make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Spelling and word-form control also need attention, for example “statment” and “tution.” Build a wider set of accurate phrases for discussing financial planning and education costs, and check collocations and spelling when revising.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate your main position using mostly simple sentence patterns, and there are attempts to connect ideas with clauses such as “because it can be used in emergency.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. Examples include “it help us,” “people who lives abroad was,” and “Student encourage to save money.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, particularly around full stops and commas. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and past-tense forms, and build more complex sentences only after checking that each clause has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
