Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: “I agree with this statement,” and the response gives relevant reasons, including managing emergencies, funding education, supporting family, and helping young people control spending. However, these points are mostly listed rather than explained with specific examples or developed reasoning, so the task is only partly addressed in depth. The second body paragraph also repeats the benefits of saving instead of adding a distinct perspective or examining a limitation, which leaves the argument somewhat narrow. The conclusion restates the main benefits and offers a useful point about balancing saving and spending, but this idea is not explored earlier. The response is also seven words below the required minimum. Develop fewer points more fully and support them with a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can follow the general topic. However, progression between ideas is limited: both body paragraphs repeat that saving helps with emergencies and independence, rather than building a clear sequence of distinct reasons. Some linking phrases are mechanical or do not show the relationship accurately. For example, “On the other hand” suggests a contrasting argument, but the paragraph continues to list advantages of saving. The opening “To commence with” is followed by several points joined mainly through “Moreover” and “Furthermore.” Organise each paragraph around one main claim, explain it, and use transitions that accurately signal addition, contrast or result.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “emergencies,” “independent,” “manage their money” and “comfortable life.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “In conclusion.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, particularly the repeated use of “saving money helps.” Some collocations are unnatural, such as “money is an important part in everyone’s life” and “maintain their future,” and spelling errors such as “thier” and “aviod” reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall message, but they make parts less fluent. Build a wider set of precise phrases for financial security and future planning, and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and most of the main ideas remain understandable. However, the range is limited, and attempts to combine clauses sometimes produce faulty or awkward structures. For example, “by saving money, people can easily manage these situations” is attached to the preceding sentence with a comma, creating a run-on structure. In “Saving money provides people to more independent,” the verb pattern and sentence construction are incomplete; a clearer form would be “Saving money helps people become more independent.” There are also agreement and article problems, as in “They also helps people,” and punctuation is inconsistent. Practise accurate clause joining, subject–verb agreement and complete sentence patterns before adding more complex structures.
