It is important for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future.

Student answer (Band 7.0)
I agree that it is crucial for all people, including the young, to put aside money for a rainy day. In general, saving money gives one the peace of mind of knowing that in case of emergencies, they can get by as they put things in place for a fall back plan.
To begin with, money saving culture ensures that one can meet their basic needs such as food, shelther, clothing and security, even in a situation where one loses their income. For example, if one cannot work for sometime due to illness, they'd need to use their savings while they recuperate. The amount of suffering one would endure just to survive, if they did not save at all and then lost their income, would be unthinkable.
Additionally, saving for the future may enable people to accumulate sufficient capital should they need to put up businesses. This is important when one is looking to build several income streams. For example, a modest business might require capital that amounts to one's annual income. Consequently, one way of achieving this start-up amount, is through consistent setting aside part of their income until they have raised enough capital.
Futhermore, saving money creates a financial trail and builds credit-worthiness. For example banks looking to finance a business may look at a person's bank statement in terms of credits and debits, including savings. It is more tenable to access financing from banks when the accounts show a healthy balance between savings and expenditure or withdrawals. Financial institutions are always eager to do business with individuals who demonstrate good financial skills such as saving, planning, budgeting and investment.
In conclusion, I absolutely agree that it is important for everyone to save money for their future and this includes young people. Cushioning oneself against unforeseen circumstances such as job losses, though savings, is important. Saving also enables people to easily set up their businesses in future either through raising capital or access to credit from financial institutions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
Your position is clear from the opening—“I agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the importance of saving through relevant reasons: protection during illness or job loss, building capital for a business, and potentially improving access to finance. The examples make the argument concrete, particularly the case of using savings while recovering from illness. The ideas are generally extended and supported, though some claims are broad: for instance, that financial institutions are “always eager” to work with savers is not qualified, and the link between a savings record and creditworthiness could be explained more precisely. To strengthen the response further, develop the particular value of starting to save when young, rather than treating young people mainly as part of “everyone.”
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.5
The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction states your view, three body paragraphs present distinct reasons, and the conclusion restates the position and summarises the main points. Paragraphing is effective, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Additionally,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. Examples are generally placed where they support the relevant point. Some linking is a little formulaic, however, as each body paragraph begins with a similar transition. The final paragraph also repeats several ideas and phrases from the body, including “saving,” “future,” and “businesses.” More varied transitions and a conclusion that synthesises rather than repeats would make cohesion more flexible and less noticeable.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “peace of mind,” “accumulate sufficient capital,” “income streams,” and “financial institutions.” These choices help express several aspects of saving, and the meaning remains clear throughout. There are also attempts at less common or formal expressions, but some are inaccurate or awkwardly collocated: “money saving culture,” “put up businesses,” and “more tenable to access financing” do not sound natural in context. Spelling slips such as “shelther” and “Futhermore” also reduce accuracy. To move further, prioritise precise, natural combinations—such as “saving habits,” “start a business,” and “more likely to obtain financing”—and proofread spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 7.0
You demonstrate a useful mix of sentence forms, including conditional structures (“if one cannot work… they’d need to use their savings”) and complex clauses explaining consequences. Many sentences are clear and grammatically controlled, and punctuation generally supports the meaning. A few errors persist in sentence construction and punctuation. In “one way of achieving this start-up amount, is through…,” the comma separates the subject from its verb; “one way … is” should remain unbroken. The sentence beginning “For example banks…” needs a comma after the introductory phrase, and “though savings” in the conclusion should be “through savings.” There is also a shift from the general “one” to “they” in the opening. More consistent reference and careful editing of these details would improve accuracy.
