Student answer (Band 6.0)

Money is something that is needed in every stage of a persons life. Without money survivial is barely possible in todays world. The view that everyone including the young generation should also save money for their future is something with which i completely agree. Furthermore in the coming passage, we will discuss how important is for a person to be financially stable to live a comfortable life.

It has been recorded that the most amount of money spent on leisure activities are spent by youngsters, therefore view explicitly calls out for younger people to save money. One of the reasons it is considered an important task to save money is that with growing age humans tend to loose their physical abilities that help them in earning money. People grow old and retire from their jobs making them dependant on what they have saved in their past years, which could be investments or rental properties.

Another factor to save money at an early stage is that no one knows their future. Some might face any medical concern years before retirement making them unable to persue that they had planned to earn untill their retirement. Moreover, the changing economy of the world and takeover of jobs by artificial intelligence is an indication of how unstable earning lively hood has become. Therefore it is recommended to start saving at a young age and those who get a chance must save a portion of their earning for future untill retirement.

While many youngsters may disagree with the statement, I fully agree with it as saving money either in property investments, stocks or keeping cash can help poeple not being dependant on others once we retire or face any reason that could effect our earning.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

Your position is clear from the introduction—“I completely agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address why saving matters for young people as well as for people approaching retirement, using relevant points about reduced earning ability, medical problems, and economic uncertainty. The examples of investments and rental properties also help explain how savings can provide support. These ideas are extended with reasons, although some claims are broad rather than specifically illustrated: for example, the statement about young people spending the most on leisure is presented without evidence, and the impact of AI on employment is mentioned but not explained in detail. Develop one or two points with a concrete example and clarify how they support your position to make the argument more fully convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs developing reasons, and a concluding restatement of your view. The progression from retirement needs to unexpected illness and employment uncertainty is logical, and linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover,” and “Therefore” help guide the reader. This shows a coherent arrangement, while some cohesion is still mechanical or unclear. For instance, “therefore view explicitly calls out” does not clearly identify which view is meant, and the final sentence combines several ideas—investment choices, dependence, retirement, and loss of income—without a clear hierarchy. Use more precise referencing and divide or simplify sentences when they carry several points, so connections feel more natural and controlled.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financially stable,” “retire,” “investments,” and “artificial intelligence,” and these choices make your main ideas understandable. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “physical abilities” and “changing economy.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “survivial,” “loose,” “dependant,” “poeple,” and “lively hood” are misspelled or incorrectly formed, while “earn a livelihood” would be more natural than “earning lively hood.” Some phrases are also awkward, such as “save money either in property investments, stocks or keeping cash.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, for example “save in property, stocks, or cash” and “be financially independent.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “that,” “making,” and “while,” so the response is not limited to basic sentence patterns. The main message is generally understandable, but errors in sentence structure, agreement, and punctuation recur. For example, “the most amount of money … are spent” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “how important is for a person” uses incorrect word order and omits a subject. The opening also has a run-on feel: “Furthermore in the coming passage, we will discuss…” A more direct construction would be “This essay explains why financial stability matters.” Review agreement and clause structure, and use commas and sentence boundaries to make complex ideas easier to follow.
