Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you firmly agree that saving is important, and you give two relevant reasons—developing decision-making skills and reducing future financial pressure. The examples about careful spending and bank savings accounts or health insurance help connect these points to the topic. However, the ideas remain general and are not fully explained; for instance, the link between saving and “logical and critical thinking” needs clearer reasoning or a specific example. The response also does not explore the statement’s emphasis on everyone, including young people, in much detail. The required minimum length is not met, which further limits the development of your argument. Explain each reason more fully and add a concrete example to support your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs introduced by “To begin with” and “Furthermore,” and a conclusion. This makes the overall argument easy to follow, and the two main reasons are separated appropriately. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. “As a result” is repeated, and the relationship between saving and developing critical-thinking skills is not made explicit. The conclusion begins with “although” but does not complete a contrasting clause, which weakens the final progression. Some sentences also run together, particularly in the second body paragraph. Use linking phrases only where the logical connection is clear, and make each paragraph develop one reason in a sequence of claim, explanation, and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “financial burden,” “living standards,” “medical expenses,” and “quality of life,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “indispensable role.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, sometimes making the reader pause: “mony,” “essention,” “aulthood,” and “lwell-being.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “saving money plays an essential role for personal development” and “contributes in people well-being.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than adding formal-sounding words. Proofread spelling carefully and learn phrases such as “contribute to well-being” and “prepare for adulthood” as complete units.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a relative clause in “which make them happy.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur throughout. For example, “it provide opportunities” should use a verb agreeing with “it,” while “saving money help people” needs a plural-form verb. The conclusion’s opening, “although saving money is important for the better future,” is left as an incomplete contrast, and the final sentence has an unclear structure. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and a complete clause; then vary structures while keeping them accurate.
