Student answer (Band 6.0)

It if often argued that saving the money for future is very crucial for everyone including youngsters.I partially agree with this view ,as this approach offers the secure future but at the same time it limits our happiness and enjoyment .

One the one hand ,One major reason why i agree is that the every individual should save money for future because it ensures a secure future .If individuals save a specific amount of money at present ,it will be a great amount in future collectively which can be used in future in any type of financial crisis .Because life is unpredictable any thing could happen. As a result ,they could use their savings in future which would help them to cope with any economic crisis in life .So saving can give individuals a confidence of a secure future that they have a backup for fullfilling their needs in future.

On the other hand ,saving money for future can have a bad impact on one's pleasure and enjoyment of life because if individuals focus much on saving money for future, then they cannot spend money on fun activities. individuals stop expend money openly on their own because they get addicted to save money due to which they limit their present for a future . Moreover ,individuals stop buying things which give them pleasure in order to save money which makes their present life unhappy and boring. For instance, the people who have the addiction of saving money for future are destroying their present by eliminating their wishes .

In conclusion, although saving money for future is a great way to cope with future crisis and problems regarding finance but at the same time it makes life unpleasant in present.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you partially agree because saving provides financial security but can reduce enjoyment in the present. Both sides are relevant, and the example of using savings during an unexpected crisis supports your main point. This meets the task well, though the two sides are not equally developed: the security argument explains how savings can act as a backup, while the opposing argument relies mainly on the general claim that savers may miss enjoyable activities. The example about people who are “destroying their present” is asserted rather than illustrated with a specific situation. To strengthen the response, explain when saving becomes excessive and distinguish sensible planning from denying oneself all present enjoyment.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two sides, and a conclusion that restates your position. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the argument. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and ideas within paragraphs are not always smoothly connected. In the first body paragraph, several sentences repeat the idea of using savings in a future crisis; in the second, the points about not spending on fun and not buying pleasurable things overlap. Some references, such as “this approach,” could be more precise. Group related points, reduce repetition, and use clearer links to show cause and contrast.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financial crisis,” “secure future,” “backup,” and “pleasure and enjoyment.” These choices make your main ideas understandable, and you attempt phrases such as “cope with” and “economic crisis.” However, the range and control are uneven: several expressions are unnatural or imprecise, including “a confidence of a secure future,” “stop expend money openly,” and “addicted to save money.” There are also spelling and word-form errors, such as “fullfilling.” These issues sometimes make the reader pause, even though the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Aim for accurate collocations and vary repeated uses of “future” and “save money”; for example, use “financial security” or “set aside funds.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “If individuals save a specific amount … it will be a great amount in future” and a concession in the conclusion beginning “although.” This shows some range, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, errors in sentence structure, articles, agreement, and punctuation recur. Examples include “It if often argued,” “the every individual,” and the run-on construction “Because life is unpredictable any thing could happen.” Capitalisation and spacing around punctuation are also inconsistent. Work on forming complete, well-punctuated sentences and checking article use and subject–verb agreement. More accurate control of these patterns would make your complex ideas easier to read.
