Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is crucial for everyone, including youngsters, to save money for their future plans. I strongly agree with this statement because in this era of inflation, it is advisable to use money to fulfil monthly family expenses and educational expenses of graduate universities.
In Pakistan, we have joint family system where all family members live together. For monthly expenses, it is essential for everyone especially for parents to save rupees to fulfl educational expenditures. For Instance, when a child go to university after completing high school, institutions have enormous fee per semester. Along with that, parents also have to use their salary wisely for their monthly household expenses. Therefore, it is important to keep money to prepare for such high educational expenses of their children. It is necessary to save money for the household expenses.
Additionally, it is equally important for young people to save money from their pocketmoney or from their job. This is because if someone wants to study abroad, he might have to pay graduate application fee which are quite higher. For example, If someone is planning to apply for 4 higher U.S universities, the application fee can be around 450$. Furthermore, if he do not get scholarship, he might have to cover his travel expenses as well. To avoid such circumstances, young individuals should save money for their career.
To conclude, I agree that every individual including adolescents should use their money wisely and try to save some money in every month which can be used in difficult times.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the opening—“I strongly agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the importance of saving for both family responsibilities and young people’s future plans, supporting these points with examples about university fees, household costs and applying to study in the United States. This gives the response relevant development and a clear line of argument. However, the discussion focuses mainly on education and family expenses, so the broader value of saving for future uncertainty or personal independence is less explored. Some support is also asserted rather than fully explained, particularly the claim that saving helps avoid difficulties if a scholarship is not obtained. Developing that link and adding a wider perspective would make the argument more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs with distinct focuses, and a conclusion. The progression from parents’ education and household costs to young people’s own plans is logical, and signposts such as “Additionally” and “To conclude” help readers follow the argument. The examples are generally placed where they support the relevant point. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. In the first body paragraph, the discussion moves from parents’ savings to household expenses and then repeats that saving is necessary for household expenses, without clearly distinguishing the ideas. The repeated “For example” style of support and the somewhat mechanical transitions also limit flexibility. Use clearer links between each claim and its consequence, and avoid repeating a point in slightly different wording.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “inflation,” “household expenses,” “application fee,” “scholarship” and “travel expenses.” These terms make the subject clear, and phrases such as “use their salary wisely” show an attempt to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, though: “educational expenses of graduate universities” is unclear, “enormous fee” is not a natural way to describe university charges, and “keep money to prepare for” would be better expressed more precisely. There are also spelling and form slips, including “fulfl” and “pocketmoney.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “tuition fees,” “set money aside” and “higher education,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if someone wants to study abroad, he might have to pay…” and a subordinate clause beginning “when a child…”. The main ideas remain understandable, and several sentences are controlled, such as “To avoid such circumstances, young individuals should save money for their career.” Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms. For instance, “a child go” should be “a child goes,” “the application fee which are” needs agreement and a clearer plural construction, and “if he do not get” should be “if he does not get.” Review these patterns and vary sentence structures while maintaining accuracy; this would make the argument smoother and more precise.
