Student answer (Band 7.0)
"Money saved is money earned" is a popular quote across the globe. Young people, as well as adults, should understand the importance of spending less money at present to ensure a better future. In my opinion, the spending habits of individuals are increasingly becoming more extravagant, and one must consider that the lifestyle they live currently would not be the same in future, if their expenditure is not controlled.
in today's contemporary world, people are more inclined towards fulfiiling short-term goals, instead of saving money for the future. The generation have shifted from the savings model to the spending model, wherein individuals believe in living in the present and enjoying their lives to the fullest, without worrying about future. Not only elders, but also young adults must consider adopting a better way to spend their earnings, and reducing unnecessary expenses. Among the many reasons justifying this choice, the primary one is how they would accommodate their future needs when they are retired and have no source of income. With age, body's health starts to deteriorate, leading higher hospital bills, and if money is not saved in the past, they would have to depend on others, which could harm their self-esteem and financial freedom. Moreover, no one knows what the future holds for us, and emergencies can happen at anytime. In the face of difficult situations, savings would enter the picture and help the individual.
One should not be a miser, but that does not mean that they should spend loads of money. Everyone wishes to experience luxury and treat themselves with a spa, but this practice should not be frequent, and limited to a certain extend. In the future, if one's family needs money and has no way but to ask the elders, one would not be able to help without savings. Being financially responsible to crucial for independence and security in the future.
To conclude, I agree that saving money now is a positive development across all generations to maintain a good quality bof live and achieve long-term goals efficiently.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear throughout: you agree that people, including young adults, should save, and the conclusion reinforces this view. You address several relevant reasons, especially retirement, healthcare costs, emergencies, and helping family members. The examples of deteriorating health and unexpected difficulties make the argument understandable. This fits the descriptor because the main ideas are extended and supported, although some claims remain broad—for example, that people are increasingly extravagant and that the generation has shifted to a spending model. The point about treating oneself to a spa is relevant but could be linked more explicitly to a practical balance between present enjoyment and future saving. Develop such points with a specific example or explanation to make the support more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall progression: it introduces your position, explains reasons for saving, considers spending on personal enjoyment, and concludes by restating your view. Paragraphing supports this structure, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “In the face of difficult situations,” and “To conclude” help guide the reader. The ideas within the main body are generally ordered logically, moving from retirement needs to emergencies and family support. At times, however, connections are a little abrupt or repetitive: the discussion of family needing money appears after a similar point about future dependence, and “Among the many reasons justifying this choice” is a somewhat mechanical transition. Use clearer links between each reason and avoid repeating the same financial-security point.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
You use a reasonably varied vocabulary for the topic, including “short-term goals,” “financial freedom,” “self-esteem,” “unnecessary expenses,” and “long-term goals.” These choices help express the central argument, and some less common phrases show an effort to be precise. However, several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “the generation have shifted,” “accommodate their future needs,” and “limited to a certain extend.” There are also spelling or typing slips, including “fulfiiling” and “bof live,” which reduce the impression of control. To strengthen your range, prioritise natural collocations and accurate word forms, and proofread carefully. The vocabulary is adequate and sometimes flexible, but not consistently precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including conditional clauses (“if their expenditure is not controlled”), a “not only…but also” construction, and longer sentences explaining causes and consequences. Most of the meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors persist. For example, “the generation have shifted” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “leading higher hospital bills” needs a grammatical link such as “leading to higher hospital bills.” In “Being financially responsible to crucial,” the verb form is incorrect; “is crucial” is needed. There are also issues with articles and sentence openings, such as the lowercase “in today’s” after a paragraph break. Greater accuracy in agreement, verb patterns, and punctuation would make the complex sentences more controlled.
