Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, saving money is a good decision of their future problems and living luxury lifestyles. It is argued that it is necessary for every individualas, especially for young people to invest for their upcoming years. I strongly agree with this statement because saving money hepls people to tackle future difficulties or unpredictable time. I am going to discuss my point of stances in the upcoming paragraph.

On the one hand, saving money for their future can be beneficial in case of any pandemic. To explain it, if people have saving they can easily survive in any situation. They have money for buying food and daily based products. For instance in case of covid-19 govermnet was implement lockdown in all country to decrese the effect of disease and saves people's life. They restrict the poeple to go outside. As a result, saving money can be beneficial for them. Moreover, in this today's era inflation rate is very high. Nowadays, the cost of basic necessities such as food, accomodation and education is increase significantly. If young people develop a habit ot save money from an early age, they can easily manage these expenses.

On the other hand, saving can help peoples to deal with medical emergencies. It means, hospital charges for treatment are very high due to expensive medical machines. If they invest some money they can easily bear this difficult situation without taking too much loan. Therfore, saving money priovide them finicial security.

In conclusion, individuals should save money for their future because in case of any pandemic, for expensive education and healthcare facalities. I completely agree with this statement because it prevent us from future problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction—“I strongly agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including financial protection during a pandemic, rising living costs, and medical emergencies, and the COVID-19 example helps illustrate one point. This meets the task well, while the range of relevant ideas shows some development beyond a basic response. However, some points are less fully explained: the pandemic example focuses on lockdowns but does not clearly show how savings help people manage the resulting financial hardship. The reference to education appears only briefly, and the conclusion lists reasons rather than drawing them together. Explain the cause-and-effect links and add a specific example to develop these ideas further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. The contrastive signposts “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” along with “Moreover” and “In conclusion,” make the main stages easy to follow. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and the relationship between sentences is not always clear. For example, the COVID-19 discussion moves from lockdowns to the general claim that savings are beneficial without explaining the link. The second body paragraph is also much shorter and less developed than the first. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to its supporting claim; vary linking expressions rather than relying mainly on formulaic transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “inflation rate,” “basic necessities,” “medical emergencies,” and “financial security.” These terms help communicate the main ideas, and there is some attempt to use more specific language than everyday vocabulary. However, the range and control are limited by repeated general words such as “money,” “future,” and “situation,” as well as inaccurate word choices and collocations. Phrases such as “living luxury lifestyles,” “daily based products,” and “bear this difficult situation” are unclear or unnatural. Spelling errors, including “govermnet,” “accomodation,” and “finicial,” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of natural collocations about saving and expenses, and proofread spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If young people develop a habit… they can easily manage these expenses.” This shows an effort to explain consequences, and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. For example, “the cost … is increase significantly” has an incorrect verb form, while “government was implement lockdown” combines verb forms incorrectly. There are also problems with agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “saving money … it prevent us.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and subject–verb agreement, and check each sentence for a complete, correctly formed verb phrase.
