Student answer (Band 6.0)

Today, money saving for future is a growing debate all over the world. Some people believes that it is important for everybody to save money for their future, including young people. I strongly agreed with this statement because money savings at right time can change lives of humans all over the world.

My first supporting reason is that, no one knows what is going to happens yesterday, so if young people save money for their future that will help them at the right time when they need, instead of begging from relatives or taking loans from banks they have their own savings to use at that difficult time. I believe that ups and downs are crucial part of our lives that no one denies. Infact in some emergency cases, I have seen people who have no savings in their entire lives and at hard time no one supported them and people makes sucidial attempts because of this reason so i thought savings at right time will saves many human lives as well.

Another reason of my support, would be that at young age people have enough strengthen to earn money so they should have to earn more and save money for their futures so that at old age they can meet their family expenditures easily instead of worrying about. That savings also might helpful for our future generations to spent on their education, to fullfil their fundamental needs to live in society and become a better part of it.

Overall, I believe that people who do not have habit of savings they should invest on different businesses at right time to save money for their future otherwise people will go through anxiety, depression, stress and many psycological phases at old ages if they have no enough savings for future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I strongly agreed”) and remains consistent. You give two relevant reasons: savings can provide support during emergencies, and money earned when young can help meet expenses in old age and support children’s education. These points address the prompt and are supported with examples, including your observation of people without savings. This meets the task well, though development is uneven: the emergency point is explained at length, while the benefits for future generations are listed rather than illustrated or explained in detail. The conclusion also shifts to investing in businesses, which is not clearly connected to the main argument about saving. Develop each reason more evenly and make the final paragraph reinforce your stated position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “My first supporting reason” and “Another reason” help signal the progression. However, some linking is mechanical, and connections between ideas are not always clear. For example, the move from emergency savings to suicidal attempts is abrupt, while the final paragraph introduces investing in businesses without explaining how this relates to saving. References such as “That savings” are also unclear. Use more natural transitions, make the relationship between examples and claims explicit, and ensure each paragraph develops one connected line of reasoning.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “savings,” “loans,” “emergency,” “expenditures,” and “fundamental needs,” and the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expression, such as “ups and downs” and “psychological phases.” However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “money saving,” “enough strengthen,” “sucidial attempts,” and “fullfil” are examples. Several phrases are also imprecise, including “a better part of it” and “at right time.” Build accuracy with common financial collocations and check spelling and word forms; this will make your vocabulary more effective without requiring unnecessarily complex words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if young people save money … that will help them” and longer sentences explaining future benefits. This shows some range, and the overall message can usually be followed. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. Examples include “Some people believes,” “what is going to happens,” and “people makes.” The sentence beginning “instead of begging from relatives” also has an unclear structure, and several long sentences combine multiple ideas without secure punctuation. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, then divide complex explanations into clearer sentences. Greater control of these forms would make your argument easier to read.
