Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that saving money for future is essential for every generation people, while others believe that its not important. However, I firmly believe that saving money for upcoming years is important.
to begin with, there are several reasons why people didnot like to save money for future. The most compelling reason is that life has no guarantee. For instance, the whole life you save money and you imagine that it will help you in your 60s or 70s and unluckly you died at your 50s so you did not enjoy any part of your life. furthermore, you saved money throughout your working career and when you retired, someone stole your money. Therefore saving is not essential for some people.
On the other hand, I firmly believe that saving money is crucial for your future. This is becouse when you waste your money throughout your working timeperiod of life and did not save a single penny so you will face many difficulties. for example, you will face difficulties in manging your daily expenses, becouse after retirement you cannot get that much money by which you can start any business or invest in any thing.futhermore, if you saved money and you get retired so you can easily start your mini business or you can invest it anywhere so the income will be continue to you so saving money is far more beneficial .
in conclusion, it is quite easy for me to say that the advantages of saving money is outweigh of its disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you believe saving is important, and you address the opposing view that life is uncertain. The examples about dying before retirement or having savings stolen are relevant, while the discussion of retirement expenses and investing supports your own view. This covers both sides of the question. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for instance, the possibility of theft is mentioned without showing how likely it is or why it outweighs the benefits of saving. The conclusion says the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, but the essay could make that comparison more explicit. Develop the reasons with clearer explanation and a more specific example to make the argument more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall structure, with an introduction, a paragraph presenting reservations about saving, a paragraph supporting it, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the other hand” and “in conclusion” help signal the direction of the argument. However, some linking is mechanical, and the first body paragraph begins with a broad statement before moving quickly through two separate examples. The long sentence beginning “This is because” also combines several consequences, making the progression harder to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and divide complex points into shorter units. Check that references such as “it” and “that much money” have clear meanings, and use transitions to show how each example supports the paragraph’s main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas about saving, retirement, expenses and investment, and phrases such as “daily expenses” and “working career” are relevant to the topic. However, the range is limited and several choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, including “upcoming years,” “waste your money,” and “invest in any thing.” Spelling errors such as “unluckly,” “becouse,” and “manging” are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Aim for more precise financial language and check spelling carefully. For example, distinguish between spending money and wasting it, and use natural expressions such as “save for retirement” and “invest in a business.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional reasoning such as “when you waste your money … you will face many difficulties.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement and punctuation occur across the response. For example, “life has no guarantee” needs an article or a different construction, and “you saved money … and you get retired” shifts tense and uses an incorrect verb pattern. Several sentences run together, particularly the sentence beginning “for example, you will face difficulties,” so punctuation and clause boundaries need attention. Practise accurate conditional forms and consistent tense, and review articles and subject–verb agreement while retaining your attempts at longer structures.
