Student answer (Band 6.5)
People nowadays have a habit of spending whatever they earn and not save money for the future. Many individuals believe that it is necessary for everyone especially younger generation to collect and save money for their future rather than spending it mindlessly. I strongly agree with this statement because money plays an important role in our life, which is why people should develop the habit of saving money instead of spending it.
Firstly, saving money is essential because it provides financial security and helps individuals prepare for unexpected expenses like medical emergencies, sudden unemployment or urgent repairs that arise unexpectedly. When an individual have the money saved, he can handle any of these situations easily. Secondly, young people who start to earn and save from the beginning will become more independent and financially responsible. For example, a student doing internship may be able to cover his last year of university without relying on his parents.
In contrast, people who fail to save the money may face considerable financial difficulties when unexpected situations arise. Such people always rely on money from their parents, siblings or they they may take loans which could create additional pressure because of interest payments. Without savings people may struggle to achieve their long term goals such as buying a new house or a car. For example, someone who spends their entire pay each month may need to take a loan if they suddenly lose their job. Hence, these people can never become independent and will always rely on someone.
To conclude, I believe that it is necessary for everyone to save money including young people, as it provides financial security, promotes independence and helps individuals cope with unexpected expenses in the future. Since not saving have its own consequences.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I strongly agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the importance of saving for everyone, including young people, and support your view with relevant reasons: financial security, independence, and preparation for emergencies. The examples of an intern covering university costs and a worker losing a job help make the argument concrete. This is a well-focused response with ideas extended and supported. To strengthen it further, develop the point about long-term goals more fully: buying a house or car is mentioned, but the explanation of how regular saving makes these goals achievable is brief. Some claims, such as that people who do not save “can never become independent,” are also overly absolute; qualify them for a more balanced argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear overall progression: an introduction states your view, the body paragraphs explain benefits and consequences, and the conclusion restates your position. Paragraphing is appropriate, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “In contrast,” and “To conclude” make the stages easy to follow. The examples are generally placed alongside the points they support. To make the organisation more fluent, rely less on formulaic transitions and use clearer links between related ideas. For instance, the second body paragraph moves from dependence on family to loans and then long-term goals; a more explicit connection could show how these are different consequences of inadequate saving. The repeated reference to “unexpected situations” also makes the progression slightly less varied.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “financial security,” “financially responsible,” “unexpected expenses,” and “interest payments.” These expressions communicate the main ideas clearly, and the language is appropriate to the subject. However, some wording is repetitive or imprecise, particularly repeated uses of “save money,” “people,” and “unexpected,” which limits flexibility. There are also collocation and phrasing issues: “collect and save money” is less natural than “build up savings,” while “cover his last year of university” could be expressed more precisely as “pay for his final year of university.” Aim to vary key terms and choose more natural combinations. This would make the argument sound more precise without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “when,” and “which,” and most sentences remain understandable. Some grammatical errors occur, but they rarely prevent the reader from following your meaning. For example, “When an individual have the money saved” has a subject–verb agreement error; use “has.” In “they they may take loans,” a repeated subject needs to be removed. The conclusion also contains an incomplete final sentence: “Since not saving have its own consequences.” Integrate this idea into the preceding sentence and correct the agreement, for example, “Not saving also has consequences.” Review agreement, sentence completeness, and punctuation, while continuing to use varied sentence structures.
