Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowdays, the lifestyle of people become expensive, while they need to learn money management in order to lead a better life. I firmly agree with the statement that financial management is a necessary skill that everyone should learn, particularly young people because it would be helpful in their future to avoid debts and also they can be financially independent by using their savings.
One of the main reasons why I agree is that, saving money for future may help people to avoid debts. Instead of taking loans to purchase anything they need, people can save money and use it to buy them. Moreover, spending their money rather than borrowed one is more profitable as they can avoid paying interest. For instance, people can buy a car by using savings, while it may be time consuming but better than paying loan installments. Additionally, they may loose more money due to charges and interest on loans if they fail to repay before due date.
Another reason is that, young people can reduce their dependency on parents for money. Most of the youngsters may feel uncomfortable to ask money from their parents. However, they can purchase necessary things by saving their pocket money. For example, young people can buy books by cutting expenses on unnecessary items.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that it is important for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future. Learning financial management is helpful for them in future and also it can make them financially independent.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you agree that saving is important, especially for young people. You give two relevant reasons—avoiding debt and becoming less dependent on parents—and support them with examples such as buying a car or books. However, the discussion is brief, and some points need fuller explanation; for instance, the car example mentions loan instalments but does not explain how saving is realistically achieved or why this applies broadly. The response also contains 236 words, so it is 14 words below the required minimum; this limits the space available to develop your ideas. Extend the reasoning and examples to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. Linking phrases such as “One of the main reasons,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help signal the progression. However, some connections feel mechanical, and the second body paragraph is much shorter and less developed than the first. The sentence beginning “Additionally” adds another consequence of borrowing, but its relationship to the preceding car example could be made more explicit. Use referencing and transitions more naturally, and develop both body paragraphs to a similar level so the argument progresses more evenly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financially independent,” “interest,” “loan installments,” and “dependency on parents,” which makes your main ideas clear. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “financial management” and “unnecessary items.” However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “the lifestyle of people become expensive,” “purchase anything they need,” and “ask money from their parents.” The spelling “Nowdays” and “loose” also reduces accuracy. Build a more natural range of collocations for discussing costs, borrowing, and saving, and check spelling carefully. More precise phrasing would make the argument sound clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “while,” and “if,” and the overall meaning remains understandable. Some sentence patterns are effective, such as “Additionally, they may…” and “However, they can…”. However, there are recurring errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “the lifestyle of people become expensive” needs subject–verb agreement and a more suitable structure, while “saving money for future may help” is missing an article. The opening sentence also joins ideas awkwardly, and “Moreover” introduces a sentence with an unclear comparison. Review these patterns and aim for accurate complex sentences alongside simpler, controlled ones.
