Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You take a clear position in the opening, saying that you agree saving is important, and you give relevant reasons: savings can help during a medical emergency and support plans such as going abroad. The hospital example also attempts to show how savings can be useful in practice. However, the response addresses the task only partially: it does not explain why saving matters specifically for everyone or young people, and the final phrase “On the other hand” introduces no contrasting point or conclusion. The response is 129 words, below the required 250, so the argument remains very limited and its ideas are under-developed. Develop each reason with explanation and a relevant example, then finish with a clear summary of your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening states your view, and “Initially” and “Moreover” introduce supporting points. The medical emergency and future-plan examples are related to the main topic, so the reader can follow the general direction. However, progression is incomplete: the response ends with “On the other hand” without giving the opposing point, and there is no concluding paragraph. Some links are also awkward or unclear, such as “because often need money in bad time,” which makes the relationship between the claim and explanation difficult to follow. Use complete paragraphs for your position, developed reasons, and conclusion, and make each linking phrase accurately signal the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a small set of relevant words and phrases, including “save money,” “future,” “hospital,” and “operation,” which allows the reader to identify your main examples. However, vocabulary is basic and repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “save money” and “future,” and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make parts of the message difficult to understand. For example, “badtime,” “plane” for a future plan, and “littel” are not appropriate forms in context; “admit in hospital” is also an unnatural expression. Build a wider range around the topic, such as emergency expenses, financial security, and long-term goals, and check spelling and collocations when revising.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response mainly uses short, simple statements and attempts a few longer sentences with “because” and “if,” as in the explanation about someone being admitted to hospital. These attempts show some effort to connect ideas, but sentence structures are very limited and errors occur frequently, sometimes making the meaning unclear. Examples include “i am agree,” “save money help,” and “he use his save money,” where the verb forms do not match the intended meaning or subject. There are also problems with sentence boundaries and capitalisation, such as “needs.Save” and the lowercase “i.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentences first, then add controlled complex sentences using clauses such as “when” and “if.”
