Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, many people believe that saving money for the future is crucial for everyone including teenagers. This essay agrees with the statement because people will be become responsible with spending and willl be able to manage their own expenses , also country will become developed as governments may able to invest on the advancements for public services.

Firstly, It is very important for people that they should know where they are spending considerable amount of money because it makes them responsible to save some amount from their income for future events. As parents have a responsibility to pay the fees for child's university education. If they save even 10 percent from their income after spending on the basic necessities. They will not find it difficult to bear the expenses of child's education. Furthermore, teenagers will learn the responsibility how saving money will provide them benefits. For example, a person studying in university will be able to pay the fees to tutors for extra classes.

On the other hand, looking at the government, if they spend whole money today at one sector then how they will serve the public in later times. It is responsibility for them to save money so that as technology becomes advance, they will be able to spend those saved money on the education and healthcare with advanced equipment. For example, government may easily invest in hospitals by purchasing advanced machines for treating the illness of people. They will not find themselves in the situation to borrow from other countries.

In conclusion, I believe saving money for the future is vital because people will be able to manager their expenses easily and country will also become developed as governments spend saved money on the future advancements.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that saving is important, and the conclusion restates this view. You address the topic through personal and government examples, including parents saving for university fees and public investment in healthcare. These are relevant reasons, but the response does not fully develop the claim about young people: the university student example is brief and does not explain how saving would work for teenagers with limited income. The link between government saving and a country becoming “developed” is also asserted rather than explained in detail. To strengthen the response, extend each main idea with a clearer explanation of its consequences and keep the discussion focused on why saving matters for everyone.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different perspectives, and a conclusion. “Firstly,” “Furthermore,” and “On the other hand” help signal the stages of the argument, and the examples generally follow the points they illustrate. However, the progression within some sentences is difficult to follow, particularly the introduction’s long sequence of reasons and the conditional explanation beginning “If they save even 10 percent.” The shift from individual saving to government finances is relevant but could be connected more explicitly to the central argument. Use clearer topic sentences and divide complex explanations into manageable sentences; also ensure that pronouns such as “they” have an unmistakable reference.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “income,” “basic necessities,” “university education,” “public services,” and “advanced machines.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “invest on the advancements,” though the collocation is inaccurate and makes the meaning less natural. Several word-choice and word-form errors recur, including “the illness” where a general plural would be more appropriate, “advance” for “advanced,” and “manager their expenses” for “manage their expenses.” The repeated use of “save,” “money,” and “future” also limits variety. Build a more precise range of collocations for personal finance and public spending, and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex structures, including a conditional sentence (“If they save even 10 percent…”) and a question-like clause about how the government will serve the public. However, complex sentences are not consistently controlled, and some errors make the relationships between ideas harder to follow. Examples include “people will be become,” “As parents have a responsibility…” as a sentence fragment, and “government may easily invest,” which is missing an article. There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, such as “country will become developed” and the comma splice in the opening sentence. Practise forming complete clauses, checking verb forms and articles, and using full stops to separate independent ideas.
