Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You take a position by saying, “I partially agree,” and give relevant points about emergency savings and investing. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: the reasons are briefly stated, and neither point is explained with a developed example or clear connection to young people’s future needs. The investment paragraph ends mid-sentence (“as many peopl…”), leaving the argument incomplete, and there is no concluding summary. The required minimum length is not met, which substantially limits how fully you can address the question. To strengthen the response, explain when saving is important, consider young people specifically, develop your view of investing versus keeping savings, and support each main point with a relevant example before concluding.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph beginning “To begin with,” and a contrasting paragraph introduced by “On the other hand.” These markers help the reader recognise the intended sequence of points. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited, and the links between ideas are sometimes unclear. For example, “Consequently these will utilize only some amount of savings” does not clearly explain how the preceding points lead to that conclusion. The final paragraph also stops abruptly, so the response has no completed ending. Develop each paragraph around one clear main idea, use linking phrases to show the relationship between claims, and add a conclusion that restates your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “liquid assets,” “medical emergencies,” “profitable investment,” and “stocks,” which shows an attempt to discuss personal finance beyond very basic terms. However, several expressions are unnatural or imprecise, such as “source for surviving,” “saving earnings,” and “investing money on land.” “Daily essentials require some amount of money during billing” is also difficult to interpret. These choices make parts of the argument less clear, even though the general topic can be understood. Aim for natural collocations and precise wording, such as “a source of income,” “save part of their earnings,” and “invest in property.” Proofread the unfinished final phrase as well.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentence forms, including “Some people believe…” and the contrast introduced by “while.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but sentence control is uneven. “Apparently, medical emergencies which will require instant payment for proceeding with the procedures” is a fragment rather than a complete sentence, and “as many peopl…” is unfinished. There are also errors in sentence construction and punctuation, such as the missing comma after “Consequently” and the lowercase “i” in the introduction. Practise writing complete clauses with a clear subject and verb, and check each sentence for a finished main clause. More accurate control of these structures would make your reasoning easier to follow.
