Student answer (Band 6.0)

Budgeting and saving money aside for future is essential, including youner generation. I think this is a practice worth noting as this helps everyone to spend money more efficiently and they can maximise their utility in the long run. Such savings can help people prepare for unforeseen circumstances, also help them tackle rise in gradual inflationary pressure and also a desired luxury piurchase can be bought which cannot be bought immediately,

It is very common people including younger people face circumstance where a significant amount of oney is needed which was not expected. For instance, it is very common that people tend to get sick or injured from time to time and may need a large chunk of money in order to pay for the medical bills, having the money saved can be a substantial assist in such situations. On the other hand, it can also help you purchase items in case of a price hike. For example, the prices of macbook had a significant increase due to the shortage of chips in AI, having an extra amount of money can easily help to finish the purchase as ease without any hassle.

Furthermore, luxury purchases may significantly hurt a person's salary even if it is a decent paying job, in order to comfortably obtain such items having money saved up can be beneficial. Conversely, younger generations can also follow this method to buy new games or toys that comes out using their stored up funds, in this way they can be happy simultaneously not having to nag to parents.

In conclusion, I would rightly agree with the statement as it strongly reduces unnecessary spending of a person and helps them to rightly spend their money. Given the mentioned arguements it can be justified why saving money can be a wise decision for every generation of people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you agree that saving is important for people of all ages, and you give relevant reasons, including unexpected medical costs, price increases and planned purchases. The examples help make the argument concrete, particularly the discussion of medical bills and buying a MacBook. This meets the task well, though the support is uneven: the inflation example is not fully explained, and the point about young people buying games or toys focuses more on avoiding asking parents than on how saving benefits their future. To strengthen the response further, develop that future-focused aspect and explain more precisely how each example supports your overall claim.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally progress from emergencies to purchases, and linking phrases such as “For instance,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening lists several benefits in one long sentence, while “On the other hand” introduces another supporting example rather than a contrasting point. The final body paragraph also shifts from luxury purchases to young people’s toys without a clear transition. Use linking expressions that show the actual relationship between ideas, and make each paragraph’s central point more consistent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “unforeseen circumstances,” “inflationary pressure,” “medical bills” and “luxury purchases.” These choices show an attempt to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary. However, several inaccurate or unnatural word choices and spelling errors reduce precision, such as “a substantial assist,” “finish the purchase as ease,” “youner,” “oney” and “piurchase.” Some phrases are also awkwardly formed, including “saving money aside” and “a decent paying job.” Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this would make your meaning clearer and help you use the range you already attempt more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “which,” “even if” and “in order to,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in sentence boundaries and clause construction. For example, “Such savings can help people prepare for unforeseen circumstances, also help them tackle…” joins ideas without a clear grammatical link, and the opening paragraph ends with a comma splice. In “items that comes out,” the verb does not agree with the plural noun, while “people … face circumstance” also needs a plural form. Review sentence boundaries, agreement and article use, and vary sentence patterns while keeping each sentence controlled.
