Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is significant for every individual, except their age to do savings for their future. I totally agree wth this statement, because many difficulties will come on people for which they need to be ready everytime. These problems can be off financially, in terms of health and also household.

It is very important for people to save money for their future, because problems and difficulties come without telling someone. I think that a individual have enough savings that in times of hardships, he can afford housing, food and basic necessities for over a year. For example, in past when there was COVID-19. It effect about 80% of the world's businesses and it effect 90% of population, food even became unaffordable for people in that time. Too many people loses their jobs and many business, industries and agriculture sectors was ruined. Hundred's of thousands people died of lack of food. Even not this back when there was greater depression in America, food became unaffordable and many people died of hungar.

A person, can do savings for his family not more, but a small amount of savings weekly and monthly can help people in time of need. If a individual is a student he can do savings for his fee, if he's old he can do savings for his grandchildren, if he's a father he can do savings for his kids college or university. Every person can do it for their future. This can help a person mentally and physically. For instance, if an individuals have enough savings that he thinks can help him in time of need, he can be tension free and away from depression, he will have no mental stress. And with it he can enjoy his later on retirement lif with ease. And also if there's a loss to a person in business he can recover it from his savings, in this way saving money can help people.

In conclusion, savings can be good for every type and every individual except he's rich or poor. Savings can be beneficial for every person. And in my opinion everyone should do it for a better future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you strongly agree that people of all ages should save. You give relevant reasons, including preparing for unexpected hardship, supporting family members, and reducing financial stress, and you illustrate these with examples such as COVID-19 and saving for education or retirement. This addresses the task well. However, the examples are sometimes asserted rather than carefully explained: the claims about the proportion of people affected and deaths from lack of food are not clearly connected to how personal savings would help. The age-based examples are relevant but brief. To strengthen the response further, develop fewer examples in more detail and explain precisely how they support your position; also clarify the qualification that savings are beneficial “except” for rich or poor people, which conflicts with your main argument.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the main ideas generally follow a sensible order. Linking expressions such as “For example,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help signal the purpose of sections. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from general hardship to COVID-19 and then the Great Depression without clearly connecting those examples to the practical value of individual savings. Several ideas are repeated, especially that everyone should save and that savings help in times of need. Some references, such as “This” and “with it,” are not always precise. Organise each body paragraph around one distinct reason, use clearer links between claims and examples, and avoid repeating the same point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including terms such as “hardships,” “basic necessities,” “unaffordable,” “retirement,” and “mental stress.” These choices show an attempt to discuss financial security and its effects. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “people,” “savings,” “help,” and “difficulties,” and several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, including “do savings,” “problems can be off financially,” and “tension free.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “hungar,” “lif,” and “loses” also reduce clarity. Build a more precise set of collocations for saving and financial hardship, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More accurate phrasing would make your ideas easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including conditional structures such as “If a person is a student…” and a sentence explaining how savings may reduce stress. The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and punctuation occur throughout. Examples include “a individual have enough savings,” “many business…was ruined,” and “if an individuals have enough savings.” Some sentences are incomplete or awkwardly joined, such as “For example, in past when there was COVID-19,” while the long sentence beginning “And with it” contains several ideas without clear punctuation. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, singular and plural forms, and complete sentence construction. Breaking longer sentences into clearer units will help you show a wider range with better control.
