It is important for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

Saving money is crucial for youth and become a essential part for their upcoming years. I partially agree with this statement, and further provide my opinion.

On the one hand, saving money is good habit for future. This make person independent and self sufficient regarding its need. Individual can invest their half portion of income in mutual funds or trading so that they can earn extra on their investment. For example, individual who invest in companies get profit over its share value and whereas person who invest in insurance can earn profit upto 10% interst from banks. Investment makes person confident and income generator over its investment. Some of individuals can also go for fixed deposite schemes.

On the other hand, people argues that saving money is not essential for their life. They spend money on their needs to fulfill them. Individuals belongs to rich family spend money on their dreams and for fame.

Whereas, people who doing jobs and belongs to middle class family can't save money. Furthermore, individuals who are spendthrift, only spend money without any reason. This leads to wastage of money. For example, in case of emergency situation people have to face a lot of problems in future.

In my view, people should learn about habit of saving from elders. This help them to learn new skill in their life. Schools and colleges should teach this skill to students how to save money in early age.

In conclusion, Investment is best policy to earn income but it also have some bad impacts which should not be ignored. People who new in market have don't know about the policies and fruads that going on. According to me government and communities should take step combiendly regarding this issue. This helps individuals to learn new skill as well as about threats about saving.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear partial-agreement position and discuss reasons both for and against saving, including investment, financial independence, limited incomes and emergency needs. These points are relevant, but the response only partly develops the task: the opening says you will provide your opinion without specifying the basis for your qualification, and the conclusion shifts towards investment risks and government action rather than clearly restating how far you agree that everyone, including young people, should save. Some examples, such as returns from insurance or shares, are asserted rather than explained, and the point about wealthy people spending on dreams and fame is not clearly connected to whether saving is important. Develop fewer points with clearer explanations and examples, and maintain a consistent position throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help readers identify the sections. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first moves from independence to mutual funds, insurance and fixed deposits without clearly linking each example to the main claim. The second combines income constraints, wealthy families, spendthrift behaviour and emergencies, so its central line of reasoning is difficult to follow. Some linking is mechanical or unclear, particularly “Whereas” at the start of a sentence and “This helps” in the conclusion, whose reference is uncertain. Group related ideas and use explicit links to show cause, contrast and consequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “mutual funds,” “investment,” “fixed deposit schemes,” “middle class” and “emergency situation,” which helps communicate the subject. There is some variety in how you describe saving and spending. However, word choice, collocation and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make meaning less precise: “income generator over its investment,” “profit upto 10% interst” and “threats about saving” are awkward or unclear, while “fruads” and “deposite” are misspelled. Several phrases also repeat general words such as “people,” “money” and “individuals.” Aim for accurate financial collocations and check spelling; for example, distinguish saving from investing and describe risks or returns precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a purpose clause in “so that they can earn extra” and a conditional example beginning “For example, in case of emergency situation.” However, errors occur frequently across the response and sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to interpret. Examples include “Saving money … become,” “This make person,” “people argues,” and “individuals who are spendthrift,” where agreement or verb forms are faulty. Articles and sentence construction are also inconsistent, as in “is good habit” and “people who new in market have don't know.” Some sentences join contrasting ideas awkwardly, such as the sentence about company shares and insurance. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and complete clause structures before adding more complex sentences.
