Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this modern age people including young individuals do not know about the importance of money. They waste the money just like water. From my perspective it is crucial for everyone to save the money. Because through money we will buy everything in this world. If people have an idea to save the money so in future, they will secure the future of their children. For example, in my country many people in the past they did not save the money because they did not know about the importance of money and now, they are unable to give a luxury life to their children. If you save the money today, then you will use it in the next day in any emergency situation or in bad time also. I think parents are the first teacher of any child, so they teach their children how to save the money and use it in the good things. Furthermore, children spend most of their time in the school so teachers should also teach them that what is the importance of money. from these steps it becomes the habit of children and adults also. But some people do not use the money even in the emergency it is not a good thing. Saving money is a good habit but also utilize it when someone needed. In conclusion, it is very important for everyone to save money for their future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that everyone should save, and you give relevant reasons, including preparing for emergencies and providing for children. The example about people in your country who cannot offer their children a luxurious life also supports your view, while your point that money should still be used when needed adds some balance. However, the response addresses the topic only partially because several ideas are asserted rather than explained—for example, “through money we will buy everything in this world” is broad and does not show why saving matters. The discussion of parents and teachers is also brief. The response is 15 words below the required minimum, and this limits the space available to develop your reasons and examples. Explain one or two points in more detail and make the example more specific.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable overall order: it states your opinion, gives reasons and an example, and ends with a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “For example,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help signal these moves. However, the ideas are presented in one continuous paragraph, so the reader has little visual guidance, and the progression between points is not always clear. The shift from saving for children to teaching financial habits, then to people who save too much, feels abrupt. Some links are also awkward or repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “so” and “also.” Use separate paragraphs for your main reasons and conclusion, and connect each point by showing how it supports your central argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main message, including “save money,” “future,” “emergency situation,” and “habit.” However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, especially “the importance of money” and “save the money.” Some word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “waste the money just like water,” “give a luxury life,” and “use it in the good things.” These choices make parts of the argument less clear or less natural, although the overall meaning remains understandable. Aim for more precise financial vocabulary and vary repeated expressions—for instance, refer to “financial security,” “living expenses,” or “essential purchases” where appropriate. Check that phrases sound natural in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You communicate your main ideas using mostly simple sentences, and you attempt some longer structures with “because,” “if,” and “so.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. For example, “Because through money we will buy everything in this world” is a sentence fragment, while “If people have an idea to save the money so in future…” combines clauses incorrectly. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “many people in the past they did not save” and the lower-case sentence beginning “from these steps.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret the meaning. Practise forming complete sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses accurately; also review punctuation and article use.
