Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is widely argued that it is essential for all members of society, including youngsters, to save money for their future. In my opinion, I partially agree with this argument because while saving money provides essential financial security, focusing excessively on saving at a young age can restrict valuable investment in education and personal development.
Firstly, a vast majority of society believes that saving money for the future is a valuable decision. For instance, if parents save money for the future of their children, there children will get high quality education and become successful in their life. Moreover, if a considerable percentage of the population saves money, they are highly likely to get lifestyle in future. Additionally, if a vast majority of the populace set aside funds for the future, they would deal with any unexpected situation such as medical emergencies, job loss or economic recessions confidently.
On the other hand, a distinct segment of society acknowledges that many adolescents accumulates savings at a young age to fulfill their needs in future. In addition, school learners put aside capital in their early years provided that it puts strain on their educational investment and on their personal growth. To illustrate this, numerous examples in our society when minors focus on savings rather than learning practical skills, they are bound to face unemployment in future.
In conclusion, although setting aside funds at a young age provides financial security and helps to handle unforeseen circumstances, I firmly believe that young individuals should also investing in higher education and practical skills to avoid future joblessness.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you partially agree, recognising the security savings provide while arguing that excessive saving can limit education and development. You address both sides and give relevant examples, including medical emergencies, job loss and education funded by parents. This meets the task well, but the support is uneven: the first body paragraph explains financial security more clearly, whereas the claim that saving puts strain on educational investment is not fully explained. The example about minors focusing on savings and later facing unemployment also needs a clearer causal link. To strengthen the response further, develop that contrast with a specific explanation or example and clarify how much saving you consider appropriate for young people.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion that returns to your position. Linking phrases such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. However, some connections are mechanical, and the second body paragraph’s reasoning is difficult to track: “In addition” introduces a point that appears to oppose the paragraph’s opening, while “To illustrate this” is followed by an incomplete construction. Some references, such as “they” in the discussion of saving, could also be more precise. Use transitions that show the exact relationship between ideas, and organise each paragraph around one clearly explained claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “financial security,” “economic recessions,” “set aside funds” and “personal development.” There are also attempts at more formal wording, such as “a distinct segment of society” and “the populace.” However, some choices are unnatural or imprecise, which limits flexibility and precision: “get lifestyle in future” does not clearly express the intended benefit, and “educational investment” is awkward in context. “There children” also contains a spelling/word-form error, and “adolescents accumulates” shows an incorrect form. Prefer natural collocations and precise terms—for example, “maintain their standard of living” and “invest in education”—rather than using formal-sounding phrases that do not fit the meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including conditional sentences (“if parents save money…”) and a concession in the introduction (“while saving money provides…”). Meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “many adolescents accumulates” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “young individuals should also investing” needs the base verb after “should.” The sentence beginning “To illustrate this, numerous examples…” is not a complete grammatical construction, making the relationship between the example and claim unclear. There are also errors in “their children will… become successful in their life.” Review agreement, modal verb patterns and sentence completeness, then proofread complex sentences to ensure each has a clear main clause.
