Student answer (Band 5.5)

Money is a vital asset for all people including younger ones if they want to live a good life and safeguard their futures.People all over the world use money to do important work or to fulfill the necessities of life.I mostly agree to this statement that saving money for future is a way forward. Some examples of why money is important and how it can help us to make our life secure and stable is described here.

Firstly, if you want to buy something like grocery, clothes or anything else money is needed for that.We live in such a society where a person's reputation and status is judged by his money or rank.If someone has plans to do like in future going to abroad or buying something if he can not save money then he can not fulfill his dreams.

One more thing about money is that emergency or bad time can come any time so saving money for unexpected times should be a priority for all.Like some examples of these are a salary person is doing a job and it got laid off so he should have atleast saving for atleast 1 month so in the mean time he can feed his family and search a job properly. One more thing money should be saved for an accident something that can occur out of the blue and no one is prepared for it.

Contrary if someone lives by hand to mouth saving should not be the first priority but living a life where the expenses can be meet so he has a shelter and food is the first priority for him.people like these should think little about that and try to save money if its possible to any extent.

I would like to conclude in this way money drives our lives and for living a complete life saving money is the way forward.Save money for complete life, emergency work but firstly complete necessites of life. All can live a happy life by working hard and saving money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you “mostly agree” that people should save, and you give relevant reasons, including future plans and protection against unemployment or accidents. The example of a worker losing a job helps explain why savings matter. You also acknowledge that people living hand to mouth may need to prioritise food and shelter, which adds a useful qualification. However, this counterpoint is only briefly explained, and some claims—such as money determining a person’s “reputation and status”—are asserted rather than supported. To develop the response further, explain more precisely how saving benefits young people in particular and extend each example with its consequences. The conclusion repeats the main view but could synthesise the reasons more clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, paragraphs on everyday needs and emergencies, a qualification, and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall logical route through your argument. You also use signposts such as “Firstly,” “One more thing,” and “Contrary” to indicate shifts. However, these transitions become repetitive or awkward, and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, the paragraph about buying groceries moves quickly to social status and then to future plans without explaining how these points connect. The emergency paragraph also repeats “One more thing.” Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then develop it in a clear sequence; vary linking expressions and make references such as “these” more explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including relevant terms such as “emergency,” “unexpected times,” “shelter,” and “expenses.” Phrases like “live by hand to mouth” and “out of the blue” show an attempt to use idiomatic language. However, several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, including “do important work,” “a salary person,” and “complete necessites of life.” Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “One more thing” and repeated references to money and saving. These choices sometimes make the argument less precise, even though the general meaning remains understandable. Aim for more natural collocations and precise terms, such as “meet basic needs,” “an employee,” and “financial security,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if someone has plans… if he cannot save money” and a contrast introduced by “but.” The main ideas are generally understandable. However, some sentence structures are faulty or difficult to follow, and errors occur in agreement, articles, verb forms, and punctuation. For example, “Some examples … is described here” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “it got laid off” does not use the appropriate subject and verb construction. Several sentences run together without clear punctuation, such as the opening sentence and the final paragraph. Practise building accurate complex sentences, and use full stops to separate complete ideas. Proofread for agreement and consistent sentence boundaries.
