Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is useful for all the people, including younger ones to know the importance of money and using the money for their future by saving. In my view, saving money for their future helps them in various situations along with that spending your money on the things which gives you happiness is also very important in life.

On one hand, Money is very much essential in todays world because everything we do is linked with money, so it is important to save money for ourselves to live happily in the future.By saving every penny from childhood can benefit him/her in their future. For example, saved money can help them for their future studies in abroad if they are intrested in.Young people can be independent without depending on their family for the money.

On the other hand, in order to save the money for their future, people do not spend anything that they like because of the savings.People do not understand the happiness in buying the things they like in order to save their money for their future. For example, younger people have to enjoy their childhood by having what they want like enjoying their birthdays by celebrating grandly. So he/she should enjoy more by spending money on what they love rather than saving money for their future.

In conclusion, i believe that saving money for themselves is very important for their future along with that it is important to know how to balance on saving the money correctly keeping their inner child happy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the topic and present a recognisable, balanced position: saving is important, but young people should also spend on things that bring happiness. The examples of funding overseas studies and celebrating birthdays are relevant. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The claim that saving “every penny” helps in the future is not explained in detail, and the opposing point focuses mainly on enjoyment rather than examining when spending might be reasonable or how to balance it with saving. Your conclusion repeats the general position but does not clarify how that balance should work. The response is also one word below the required minimum, so ensure future answers meet the stated length while developing each main idea more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signposted by “On one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. Examples are placed alongside the points they support, and the final paragraph returns to your central view. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. The opening sentence runs directly into the next, and “along with that” is used repeatedly without showing the precise relationship between ideas. References such as “him/her” and “they” also shift, making it less clear who is being discussed. Use clearer sentence boundaries and more precise links to improve progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas, with relevant terms such as “independent,” “future studies,” and “balance.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “money,” “future,” and “save.” Some choices are unnatural or imprecise, such as “younger ones,” “saved money can help them for their future studies,” and “balance on saving the money.” Spelling errors, including “todays” and “intrested,” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument, but more precise collocations and a wider range of topic vocabulary would make it clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and more complex forms, including a conditional-style example and contrastive clauses, so there is some variety. The main ideas remain understandable, but some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation are noticeable. For example, “By saving every penny from childhood can benefit him/her” has an incomplete structure; write “Saving every penny from childhood can benefit young people.” In “the things which gives you happiness,” the verb should agree with the plural noun (“give”), and “everything we do is linked with money” needs a full stop before the next sentence. Capitalisation is also inconsistent, as in “Money” and “i.” More accurate sentence construction and punctuation would strengthen control.
