Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you completely agree that saving is important, and you give relevant reasons, including financial security in emergencies, buying a home, and helping young people avoid spending on unnecessary items. The personal example about saving pocket money for a laptop also supports your view. This addresses the main task, but some points are less fully developed than others. For example, the claim that schools and universities encourage saving is introduced vaguely, without explaining what activities or benefits they provide. The home-buying example is more detailed, though its consequences could be explained more clearly. To strengthen the response, develop each main reason with a specific explanation and make the link between young people’s saving habits and their future security more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, supporting paragraphs, a personal example, and a conclusion. The ideas generally follow a sensible order, moving from the benefits of saving to young people’s habits and then to your own experience. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are joined into long sentences, and linking expressions are occasionally mechanical or unsuitable. For instance, “on the paradoximal side” does not clearly signal the relationship between the preceding point and the discussion of schools. The conclusion also repeats the general claim rather than drawing together the reasons. Use clearer topic sentences, divide examples from explanations, and choose connectors that accurately show contrast, addition, or cause.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “emergency conditions,” “pocket money,” “loan interest,” and “unwanted things,” and the personal example gives you opportunities to use specific terms. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spellings are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making the reader pause. Examples include “backbone of our future,” “saving carrier,” and “best future life”; more natural expressions would be “financial foundation,” “saving habit,” and “a more secure future.” There are also repeated forms of “save” and “future,” which reduces flexibility. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully, especially for words such as “debatable,” “emergency,” and “experience.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if a person wants to buy a new house” and a time clause beginning “when I was a young child.” This shows some range, but control is uneven: some sentences contain several clauses without clear punctuation, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “schools and universities plays” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “they can easily to bought that home” combines incompatible verb forms. The sentence beginning “The major advantage of save money” also needs a grammatical structure such as “The major advantage of saving money is that…”. Practise accurate clause patterns and review each sentence for agreement, verb form, and punctuation.
