Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is widely acknowledged that saving money is a beneficial habit for everyone because it gives us many advantages in different ways. I strongly agree that it is crucial for us to teach our young generation to save money for their future. This eassy will examine both merits before reaching a conclusion.

To commence with, the main advantage of saving money is that it teaches us how we spend money wisely and can save a certain amount of money for future goals. For instance, if we want to buy their own house, by saving money we can fulfill our dream to buy a house. Moreover, we can visit our dream destinations using saved money. In my countries it is very common to save money to purchase different assert to secure future life because afer retairments most people rely on saved money. Therefore, we should save money, including young people, for their future.

On the other hand, today people especially our young generation spend money frequently on different unnecessary things and it is difficult for them to save it. While it is a horrible habit because in rainy days they face many obstacles to handle their expenses. For example, during pandemic (COVID) many people lose their job for months and people who did not save money faced difficulties.

To conclude, I largely agree that we should teach our youngers to save money for their future goals because it helps to fulfill dreams and secure our future expences after retirement and saving also teach us to spend it wisely.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction—“I strongly agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including saving for a house or travel and having a financial buffer if employment is lost, with the pandemic example helping to illustrate the risk of not saving. This addresses the task and provides support, while the discussion of teaching young people is relevant to the statement. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the claim that saving teaches people to spend wisely could be developed by showing how budgeting builds that habit. The reference to retirement is also brief. More explanation of how these examples support your position would make the response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting benefits and a counterpoint, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “To commence with,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” make the stages easy to follow, and the pandemic example is placed appropriately after the point about financial difficulty. The overall progression is clear, though some connections feel mechanical or imprecise. The second body paragraph introduces spending habits but does not clearly explain how this counterpoint relates to the need to teach saving. In addition, “Therefore” repeats the preceding recommendation rather than advancing the argument. Use clearer links between each claim and its example, and vary transitions so the organisation feels more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “save money,” “future goals,” “retirement,” and “expenses.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “secure future life” and “rainy days,” but some choices are inaccurate or unnatural and occasionally make the reader pause. Examples include “different assert” for assets, “after retairments,” and “our youngers.” Spelling errors such as “eassy,” “afer,” and “expences” are noticeable, while repeated use of “money,” “save,” and “future” limits flexibility. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling; a more precise range would help express the same ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “if we want to buy their own house” and a contrast introduced by “While.” The main message is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. For instance, “This eassy will examine both merits” needs an article, and “if we want to buy their own house” shifts from “we” to “their.” The sentence beginning “While it is a horrible habit” is a fragment because the subordinate clause is not joined to a main clause. There are also issues with sentence boundaries and punctuation, such as the missing space after “future.” Practise complete complex sentences and consistent pronoun reference.
