Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is argue that everyone specially youngsters should try to save some amount from their income to secure their future. I firmly agree with this statement because it will reduces financial burden in old age andhave a chance to invest this amount for educational purposes without support of parents.

On one hand, people believe that savings always play integral part in competing expenses in old age. As when people come to the age over 50, they are not able to do full-time working, but they have to manage with the daily basis expenditure. Amount they save from their income will relief this economical burden. Moreover, for young people savings are essential when they wanted to persue for higher education, they can get help to cope with all educational expenses and behave like an independent person.

On the other hand, mostly youngsters are not willing to do so, as they think they earn to invest their money for enjoyment and fun activities. They are always interested to spend income for adventurous activities to make their soul relax and have gathering with the peers. They wanted to live life as an independent person without any responsibility. For instance, students at their young age opt to join diffrent kind of jobs just to manage the expenses related to their own wish.

To sum up, I have strong opinion for savings at early age to get releif in older age when they are not able to put enough energy to do long hour jobs. Some of them still have argument to spend life as an independent soul without any responsibility which have possibilities to face difficulties in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I firmly agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the central issue with relevant reasons: savings can ease financial pressure in later life and help young people pay for further education. The discussion of young people spending on enjoyment also acknowledges a contrasting view. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the link between being over 50 and being unable to work full-time is generalised, and the example about students taking jobs does not clearly show how saving benefits them. Develop each reason with a specific explanation or example, and make the counterargument’s relationship to your own position clearer.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “On one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall coherent route through your position and supporting ideas. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. The opening of the first body paragraph, “As when people come to the age over 50,” is not smoothly connected to the main claim, while “Moreover” introduces a related but distinct point without much development. The final sentence also shifts back to the opposing view rather abruptly. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and ensure each paragraph develops one main purpose before moving on.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “financial burden,” “educational expenses,” “independent,” and “adventurous activities,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at less common expressions, but several choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “competing expenses,” “relief this economical burden,” and “independent soul.” Spelling errors such as “persue,” “diffrent,” and “releif” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and check word forms and spelling: for example, describe savings as helping to “cover expenses” or “ease the financial burden.” More precise vocabulary would make your arguments clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “when,” and “as,” and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, control is uneven, particularly in longer sentences. Examples include “because it will reduces,” where the verb form is incorrect, and “they wanted to persue,” where the tense does not fit the general point. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction, as in “play integral part” and “As when people come to the age over 50.” Some sentences join several ideas without clear grammatical structure. Practise accurate subject–verb patterns, articles, and clause formation, then proofread each sentence for a clear main clause.
