Student answer (Band 5.5)

" If you save more, you spend more and in the end you earn more"- It is important for everyone from younger people to older people that saving money is going to help them in the future . That's why, i firmly agree with the statement that saving money is a good habit.

On one hand, saved money has good potential which can reduce our burden of future spending. Recently, an experiment was conducted by Naz charity foundation on how people save money and spend them. Experiment shows that people who save money on the daily bases have a pretty happy life and can earn well . However, other many good reasons why one should save money are- Firstly, they have better chances of survival into this modern era. Secondly, from personal experience, people should buy anything from that saved money like clothes, shoes and mobile phones. Thirdly, it can be emergency buffer and debt avoidence. Recommended vehicles for saving money are fixed deposit, mutual funds, stocks and saving account.

On the other hand, people earning well below wages or has less income, then it is not necessary to save money, instead they use money on day to day basis for maintaining minimun living lifestyle. Moreover, there are chances that saved mone has possibility to get stolen by someone either by known person or by an outsider. Another reasons for not saving money is inflation erosion, scarcity mindset and anxiety of financial ruin or bad bank situation.

In conclusion, saving money has both pros and cons but more are positive implication on the future as it is safest way to secure future lifestyle. Everybody wants a better and affordable life by saving money one can earn this lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you firmly agree that saving is beneficial, and the conclusion returns to the idea of securing a better future. You also acknowledge a counterargument by noting that people on low incomes may need to spend on daily necessities, so the response addresses both sides of the issue. However, several supporting points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that daily savers “have a pretty happy life and can earn well” is not clearly linked to saving, and the list of investments does not show why these options support your argument. Develop fewer points with specific explanations or examples, and clarify how saving benefits young people in particular, to make the response more fully supported and balanced.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from a charity experiment to survival, personal purchases, emergencies, and investment products without showing how these points connect. The second paragraph similarly lists several disadvantages. Some linking phrases, including “However, other many good reasons,” are awkward or unclear. Organise each paragraph around one main idea, then explain it and give a relevant example; use references and transitions to show the relationship between points rather than relying mainly on lists.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “emergency buffer,” “fixed deposit,” “mutual funds,” and “inflation erosion,” which shows an attempt to discuss financial matters specifically. Some phrases are also effective in conveying the general argument, such as “secure future lifestyle.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “daily bases,” “better chances of survival into this modern era,” and “debt avoidence.” Spelling errors such as “minimun” and “mone” also reduce accuracy. The meaning is generally recoverable, but these noticeable problems limit precision. Aim for familiar, accurate collocations—for example, “on a daily basis,” “avoid debt,” and “a minimum standard of living”—and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional idea in the opening and a contrastive sentence beginning “On the other hand.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in sentence construction and agreement occur across the response. For example, “people earning well below wages or has less income” combines an incomplete comparison with a singular verb, while “Another reasons …” has a mismatch between the determiner and noun. The opening quotation and the sentence beginning “That's why” also need clearer punctuation and sentence boundaries. Practise building complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and singular/plural forms. More accurate control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to follow.
