Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this generation saving money for the future is most important thing to do for everyone, Reagardless of their age including young people. I partially agree with this statement beacuse, saving money for the future plays paramount of importance during emergency situation but in my view investing money could be a grate choice.

To commence with, Most of the people in this society manage their income and save some amout of their salary as fixed deposit. Thinking, they will use this money for edaucation of their children, marrige and building a beautiful home for them. Futhermore, there will be some emergency situations where this saved money can help a lot. For instance, if any one in a family get hospitalized in an accident this mony could help in paying expensive hospital bills for the treatment whuch couldn't be possible without savings for a middleclass family.

One of the most significant merits of investing money is the return on investement. In which the invested money gets back with profits. The growing market value of land, gold and stocks will give humongus returns to the investor. For instance, people who bought bitcoin during 2007 became millionaires today as most of the countries adopt digital currency for tarde and exchange of goods to avoid unwanted teriffs. But one should have general awareness before investing money.

In conclusion, the given statement has a double edged sword as there are people who saves money for emergency situations and some invest the money for grate returns. I personally believe investing might be a good option.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address the question and present a qualified position: saving is useful in emergencies, while investing may offer better returns. The hospital-bill example supports the value of savings, and the discussion of land, gold and stocks gives a relevant reason to invest. However, the position shifts: you begin by saying you partially agree, but conclude that investing is a good option without clearly explaining how this resolves the importance of saving for everyone, especially young people. The examples are also unevenly developed; the Bitcoin claim is broad and its connection to the prompt is not fully explained. To strengthen the response, state your precise view and explain how young people should balance saving with investment.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for saving and investing, and a conclusion. The examples generally follow the point they are intended to support, so the reader can follow the main argument. However, some linking is mechanical, particularly “To commence with” and “One of the most significant merits,” and the conclusion’s “double edged sword” does not clearly summarise the relationship between the two positions. Some connections within sentences are also unclear, such as “In which the invested money gets back with profits.” Use more natural transitions and make the relationship between saving and investing explicit. A clearer progression would compare their purposes before stating which should take priority.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “fixed deposit,” “emergency situations,” “return on investment,” and “market value.” These choices help you discuss both saving and investing, and the intended meaning is usually understandable. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “Reagardless,” “amout,” “humongus,” and “tarde.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “paramount of importance,” “beautiful home for them,” and “grate returns.” These slips limit the precision and naturalness of the vocabulary. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases, for example “of paramount importance” and “earn substantial returns,” rather than translating expressions word by word.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at more complex structures, including a conditional example beginning “if any one in a family…” and a relative clause describing hospital bills. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “most important thing” needs an article, “if any one … get hospitalized” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “there are people who saves” uses the wrong verb form. The sentence fragment “In which the invested money gets back with profits” also interrupts the flow, while punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent. Aim to make each sentence grammatically complete, check agreement and articles, and revise complex sentences to ensure their clauses connect correctly.
