Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this generation, saving money for the future is the most important thing to do for everyone, regardless of their age, including young people. I partially agree with this statement because, saving money for the future plays paramount importance during an emergency situation. But in my view investing money could be a greate choice.

To commence with, most of the people in this society manage their income and save some amount of their salary as fixed deposit. Thinking, they will use this money for education of their children, marriage and building a beautiful home for them. Furthermore, there will be some emergency situations where this saved money can help a lot. For instance, if anyone in family gets hospitalized in an accident this money could help in paying expensive hospital bills for the treatment which couldn't be possible without savings for the middle-class family.

One of the significant merits of investing money is the return on investment. In which the invested money can get back with good returns. The growing market value of land, gold and stocks will give substantial returns to the investor. For instance, people who bought bitcoin during 2007 became millionaries today as most of the countries adopt digital currency for trade and exchange of goods to modernize financial infrastructure. But one should have general awareness before investing money.

In conclusion, the given statement has a double edged sword as there are people who save money for emergency situations and some invest the money for solid returns. I personally believe investing might be a good option.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is identifiable: you partly agree that saving matters, while arguing that investing may be preferable. You support saving with a relevant emergency example and explain that investments can produce returns, so the response addresses the main question. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The benefits of saving are illustrated clearly, but the case for investing relies heavily on rising asset values and the Bitcoin example, without explaining the risks or why investment should take priority for everyone, especially young people. The conclusion also calls the issue a “double edged sword” rather than clearly resolving how far you agree. Develop the comparison and state a more precise final position to make your response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on saving and investing, and a conclusion. The examples generally follow the points they are intended to support, which helps the reader follow the argument. Some connections, however, feel mechanical or unclear. “To commence with” and “Furthermore” signal progression, but “One of the significant merits…” is followed by the fragment “In which the invested money can get back with good returns,” so the relationship between the sentences is not smooth. The conclusion introduces “double edged sword” without clearly linking it to your stated partial agreement. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each example explicitly to your position; clearer referencing and paragraph-level progression would strengthen the organisation.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.5

You show an adequate range and make some effective attempts at less common vocabulary, including “paramount importance,” “substantial returns,” and “financial infrastructure.” These choices help you discuss savings and investment beyond basic terms. At times, however, word choice or collocation is inaccurate or unnatural: “plays paramount importance” would be more naturally expressed as “is of paramount importance,” and “a greate choice” contains a spelling error and an imprecise phrase. “Millionaries” is also misspelled, while “double edged sword” needs the conventional hyphenation and is not quite precise for your argument. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than adding elevated wording; this would preserve your range while making the meaning more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and more complex forms, including a conditional example beginning “if anyone in family gets hospitalized” and a relative clause about market values. Meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors remain. The opening “because, saving money…” incorrectly separates the conjunction from its clause, and “Thinking, they will use this money…” is a sentence fragment rather than a complete sentence. The phrase “In which the invested money can get back…” is also incomplete and has an unclear grammatical subject. There are further issues with articles and agreement, as in “anyone in family” and “the given statement has a double edged sword.” Check that each sentence has a complete main clause, and review article use and clause construction.
