It is important for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 4.5)
Managing daily finances is a serious issue which needs to be explained, spending habits of people vary from activities to activities. However the spending habits of young peoples are very concerning and they do not think about savings.
However saving money for futures can be very benifical for indivituals, but considering the spending habits can really effect the individuals. The old aged individual are the only one who cares about saving money as they have suffered from past finances, whereas the attitude of todays younger generation is very aggressive, they spent alot in entertainements activities which i beleive is not a smart thing to do,but some of them spent on productive things like in investing activities and more.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You introduce the topic and indicate that saving can benefit individuals, while also noting that some young people spend on entertainment and others invest. However, the response only minimally addresses the question: it does not clearly state how far you agree or disagree, and the ideas are not supported with reasons or relevant examples. The contrast between older and younger people is mentioned but not explained, and the final point about productive spending is left undeveloped. The response is also 132 words below the required minimum, so there is not enough discussion to answer the task fully. State your position directly, then develop two reasons with specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening introduces spending habits, and the next part turns to saving and compares generations. However, the ideas do not progress into a clear argument, and there is no developed conclusion. Repeating “However” at the start of both parts does not show the relationship between the points clearly; the second use also introduces a contrast that is not fully explained. The long second sentence combines several ideas—older people’s experience, young people’s spending, and investment—without clear separation. Use distinct paragraphs for your position, reasons and conclusion, and connect each point with precise transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “spending habits,” “savings,” “finances,” and “investing activities,” which makes the subject understandable. The range is nevertheless limited, and several inaccurate forms or collocations make the writing less clear, such as “young peoples,” “save money for futures,” and “entertainements activities.” Spelling errors including “benifical,” “indivituals,” and “alot” are noticeable. Aim for accurate, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, “young people,” “saving for the future,” and “entertainment” would express your ideas more clearly; you could also use “financial security” or “long-term savings” to add precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine ideas in longer sentences, for example with “whereas” and “as,” but these complex structures are often faulty or difficult to follow. The opening joins two independent ideas with a comma: “...needs to be explained, spending habits...” The sentence beginning “However saving money...” also contains a comma splice before “but,” and the final sentence runs several points together. There are errors in agreement and sentence construction, as in “The old aged individual are the only one,” while punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb.
