Student answer (Band 6.0)
Today we are living in the world of advancement, where with each passing day we are on track of reaching pinnacle of technology, however during this journey we generally tends to ignore multiple factors that will eventually decides how we are going to life our rest of life. I strongly believe it is very important for everyone including young people to save money for their future.
There are multiple reasons why i support this statement. In any person's life,I believe savings plays an important role. One of the best financial advice which i got from my father was to start saving money from early age because I believe if we save the money from younger age, it help us to understand the value of money, how difficult it is to earn money in today age.
Sadly with advancement of AI, our future is extremely unpredictable. In recent days, big-tech companies like Google, Microsoft etc layed off hundreds and thousands of its employee. If the employee din't have enough savings until they crack another job, it becomes a question of survival.
Its my personal opinion when you have enough savings, it give you confidence because sadly we are living in the world, where money is everything so if you have enough savings or is wealthy in society you will have enormous respect. For older people specially,I believe havings enough savings is very important so you don't become burden on your childrens.
Savings help to create sense of ownership and desire to help others. When you have enough money in bank as savings, and look others who are in miserable conditions, you intenteded to help them, your point of view completely changes about life and you try to help others in every way possible.
Government worldwide are launching different financial awareness programs that also encourges its citizen to opt for savings as compared to spending money on unnecessarly. Like in British schools, from age 7 there is a special program known as Financial literacy program that teaches students, how to earn and save money, and once they become adults these programs also provide information how to invest your money safely to generate more savings for future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that everyone, including young people, should save. You support this with relevant reasons, including learning the value of money, coping with job loss, and avoiding dependence in old age. The personal advice from your father also gives the response a relevant example. This fully covers the main question, while the range of supporting points shows some development beyond a basic response. However, several ideas are asserted rather than explained: for example, the claim that savings bring “enormous respect” is not clearly connected to the importance of saving, and the point about helping others could use a specific illustration. The final paragraph’s claim about a British school programme also needs clearer support or qualification. Develop these points more precisely to make the argument more consistently convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, several paragraphs presenting reasons, and a final paragraph about financial education. The ideas are generally relevant and can be followed, with transitions such as “Sadly” and “For older people” signalling shifts in focus. However, the progression between points is not always clear. The paragraph beginning “Its my personal opinion” combines confidence, social respect, and support for older people, which would be easier to follow if divided or organised around one main idea. Some links are also mechanical or unclear, particularly the repeated use of “because” and the movement from personal savings to helping others. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s central point, then connect examples directly to it and use referencing such as “this financial security” to make relationships clearer.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “financial advice,” “unpredictable,” “survival,” “financial awareness,” and “invest your money safely.” These choices help communicate ideas about employment, security, and financial education. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “sense of ownership” and “miserable conditions,” though some are not quite natural in context. Several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision: “on track of reaching pinnacle,” “layed off,” “its employee,” and “unnecessarly” are examples. “Savings” is also repeated frequently, so alternatives such as “financial reserves” or “a nest egg” could add flexibility. Aim to learn vocabulary in natural combinations and check spelling and word forms; this would make the argument sound more controlled without requiring unnecessarily complex language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If the employee didn’t have enough savings … it becomes a question of survival” and clauses introduced by “because” and “where.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make sentences awkward. For example, “we generally tends” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “it help us” and “savings plays” also need agreement correction. The opening sentence is long and joins contrasting ideas with “however” without clear punctuation; several later sentences similarly need clearer sentence boundaries. There are also errors in articles, plurals, and verb forms. Practise checking each sentence’s subject and verb, and break long sentences into shorter units while retaining a few accurately controlled complex structures.
