Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that it is important to save money for their future. While some people believe that it is not important, I firmly believe that saving money is essential because you can use that money later to start a business or invest in something useful.
One of the main reasons why I agree with this statement is that I want to invest the money saved, for something that will be useful for me. This is because I have to pay someone or something to get educated. In other words, learning new skills will always have a catch especially a money. For example, I want to get a degree but to get into university I have to pay the tuition fee. Therefore, to get better education I will use my savings.
Another important reason is that If I want to start a business I will need seed capital. This means that I will use money stored for building the capital. Furthermore, any kinds of business requires more than the monthly salary so I can't just start it on a random day. For instance, when I try open a restaurant one day on a well located place. I will roughly need several years of salary. As a result, I you need a savings account to start something big.
In conclusion I strongly agree with saving money is important because I have to pay a large sum of money for well education and would need a years of saved money for startup businesses.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you firmly agree that saving is important, and you give two relevant reasons—funding education and providing capital for a business. The examples of university tuition and opening a restaurant help connect these reasons to practical situations. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The education point focuses on your own plans, while the business example is hypothetical and its link to the claim that everyone, including young people, should save is not fully explained. The opening briefly mentions investing, but this idea is not developed separately. To strengthen the response, explain more fully how saving benefits people in different circumstances and extend each example with a clear consequence or supporting detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “One of the main reasons,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” make the organisation easy to follow. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “This means that I will use money stored for building the capital” repeats the previous point rather than advancing it, and “As a result, I you need a savings account” contains an unclear reference and disrupts the progression. The conclusion also repeats the main reasons without bringing them together. Use linking expressions selectively, make pronoun references precise, and ensure each sentence develops the paragraph’s central idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “invest,” “tuition fee,” “seed capital,” “monthly salary,” and “savings account.” These terms show an attempt to discuss education and business rather than relying entirely on general language. However, the range is limited and several word combinations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “get better education,” “a well located place,” and “a years of saved money.” “Any kinds of business” is also an awkward expression. These choices sometimes make the reader pause, although the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Build a more accurate range of collocations for saving, education costs, and business start-up funding, and check whether nouns are countable and phrases sound natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause (“because you can use that money later”) and a conditional structure (“If I want to start a business…”). This gives the response some variety, and the main message is usually understandable. However, several sentence structures are faulty or incomplete. “For instance, when I try open a restaurant one day…” is a fragment, while “I you need a savings account” contains an incorrect subject construction. There are also errors in agreement and articles, as in “any kinds of business requires” and “a money.” Capitalisation after “that” and “if” is inconsistent. Practise complete sentence patterns, subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
