Student answer (Band 5.5)
Yes i agree that everyone should save money for their future because no one knows what is going to happen in coming time. So, if there will be any issues or problems in the future one can get rid of them. In the time we are living in is the time of rich people only. Therefore, we have to make money and save it as well to survive in this world. We should always be prepared for bad and unfortunate incidents.
In future, someone maybe it can be one of your family member that is in hospital and you need money to pay the hospital bills, in this situtation your saved money will save your loved one's life.
I agree to the statement that it is important to save money but i also disagree to it at some points, As much as it is important to save money however, it is initial to spend money on your present needs, don't focus on saving so much that you become stingy and stop spending on your needs that you have in present. You should save money for future but keep in mind that if you only focus on collecting money and not use it in present for your needs or even for enjoyment you will probably regret it later when the time passes you will realize that the money you saved for your future and did not spent it on yourself or for your pleasure would be of no use in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a position in favour of saving and also acknowledge that people should spend on present needs, so the response addresses both the main claim and a qualification. The hospital-bill example is relevant and helps explain why savings can matter. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the claim that “we are living in the time of rich people only” is unclear and not explained, and the final point about regretting excessive saving is repeated rather than supported with a specific example. Make your position more consistent by stating clearly how much people should save, then develop each reason with a clear explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable progression: it first gives reasons to save, then introduces the need to spend on present needs. Connectors such as “Therefore,” “In future,” and “however” help signal these moves. However, the overall development is not consistently clear. The opening paragraph moves from uncertainty to wealth and survival without explaining the links, while the final paragraph combines agreement and disagreement in a long, difficult-to-follow sentence. Some references, such as “it” and “them,” are also unclear. Use separate paragraphs for each main reason and conclusion, and make each sentence’s relationship to the previous one explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “save money,” “hospital bills,” “present needs,” and “unfortunate incidents.” There are also attempts at more expressive phrasing, such as “your loved one’s life.” However, the range is limited and several choices are awkward or imprecise, including “get rid of” problems, “initial to spend,” and “collecting money.” Spelling errors such as “situtation” and “realize” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise collocations and avoid repeating “money” and “future” so often; for example, use “deal with unexpected expenses” and “set aside savings.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea about needing money for hospital bills and a contrast between saving and spending. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. For example, “In the time we are living in is the time…” has an incorrect sentence structure, while “if there will be any issues” uses an unsuitable verb form after “if.” The long sentence beginning “As much as it is important…” also has faulty punctuation and an incomplete contrast structure. Practise forming clear conditional sentences and divide long sentences into shorter, grammatically complete units.
