Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is important for everybody, including adults, to store money for their later life. Many people saves money because they think that they use it in their difficult time. In this essay, i agree with this statement.

There are several reasons. Firstly, young people saves money because they think that they use their saving in different areas. For instance, they use their saving to buy their clothes and other useful things. Secondly, they saves money to use in difficult time such as they spend their money with friends when they go to out of city with your friends they spend you saving.

In summer vacations they go to visit diffrent areas with their saving, For example they go to mountains with their family members and spend a special time with their family. Many other people have different minds they saves money so that they start business in their future. But every business men have almost same mind they saves money to invest in the another business.

In my opinion, we should saves money for difficult times because every men faces different difficulties in your life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear position—“i agree with this statement”—and give relevant reasons, including saving for difficult times, purchases, travel and starting a business. However, the response only partially develops the task: several examples describe ways people spend savings rather than explaining why saving is important for everyone’s future. The point about business investment is also brief, and the conclusion repeats the idea of preparing for difficulties without drawing the reasons together. The response is 185 words, below the required 250, so there is not enough explanation or support. To strengthen the answer, explain the future benefits of saving, such as financial independence or covering emergencies, and develop each reason with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “For example” help identify some points. However, the overall progression is unclear because ideas shift between buying clothes, spending time with friends, holidays and business investment without showing how each supports the central argument. The second reason is especially difficult to follow: “they spend their money with friends when they go to out of city” does not clearly explain saving for future needs. Some linking is mechanical, and the final paragraph is too brief to provide a developed conclusion. Organise the body around two or three clear reasons, explain each in sequence, and use references such as “these savings” only when their meaning is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a small set of relevant terms, including “save money,” “difficult time,” “business,” and “invest,” so the main topic is generally understandable. However, vocabulary is repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “saves money” and “spend,” and some choices are imprecise or unnatural, such as “store money for their later life” and “different minds.” Spelling errors such as “diffrent” also reduce accuracy. The limited range makes it difficult to express the benefits of saving precisely. Build a topic-specific vocabulary set and use it accurately—for example, terms for financial security, emergencies, future expenses and investment—rather than repeating the same general words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You communicate mainly through simple sentences and attempt some longer structures, including “Many people saves money because they think that they use it in their difficult time.” However, subject–verb agreement errors occur repeatedly: “people saves,” “they saves,” and “we should saves.” Other sentence patterns are faulty, as in “when they go to out of city,” and pronouns shift confusingly in “with your friends they spend you saving.” Capitalisation and punctuation also need attention, including the lowercase “i” and the comma splice after “saving” in the summer-vacation paragraph. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Practise accurate agreement and build longer sentences from correct simple clauses before adding subordinate clauses.
