Student answer (Band 5.5)
Saving money for future has seen to been common practice from generations, as money is the only asset that can benefit us in future, wether people are teen or young adults, atleast this what the previous generations have thought of. but when we see the people in the recent decade, practices with saving money has been overtime. and it is questioned if only saving money can benefit us or investing it in right way does.
In past, as far as I observed people were less literate about managing finance, there were only a few prcatices that people knew, the most common practice I have seen was people used to take a small percentage of their salary to save for future, or may be if they were well educated and knew how buying assets for future can benefit them more than just saving cash they used to buy lands or gold. and as the younger people of these generations were seeing this practices common they used to repeat it too.
But as the world changing, inflation started to rise in the recent decades. handling money has been difficult. people invest more than only saving for their future especially the younger generations of this time has come up with different ways of saving. and I strongly agree with this statement that saving money is important for everyone including young people. specially in this era where value of money is falctuating day by day and works differently in many countries. for example, value of pakistani rupee is highly effected by dollar flatuation. and it effects the expenses for people living in pakistan, there for people in pakistan are more interested earn in dollars or save money by investing in different assets so when pricess go higher their, gold, property, crypto or any forgien currency would benefit them more than saving pakistani rupee for specific period of time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that saving for the future matters, and you connect this view to inflation and the changing value of money. The discussion of people setting aside part of their salary and the example of the Pakistani rupee’s relationship with the dollar are relevant. However, the response spends substantial space describing past saving habits and newer investment practices, so the central argument about why everyone, especially young people, should save is not developed evenly. The final example also shifts towards earning in dollars and investing in assets rather than explaining the value of saving itself. Develop the reasons more directly—for instance, how savings can provide security or help young people meet future costs—and support each with a clear example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has an overall structure, moving from an introduction to past practices and then to present-day financial pressures. This gives the reader a broad sense of progression, and phrases such as “In past” and “But as the world changing” signal shifts between ideas. However, the first two paragraphs mainly provide background, while the main position appears clearly only in the third. Several sentences are joined by full stops or conjunctions in ways that make the relationships between ideas unclear, and the final example contains several points—currency fluctuation, expenses, earning dollars, and investing—without a clear sequence. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, and divide the final example into a logical chain of cause and effect. Clearer referencing would also help readers follow which practices or people you mean.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of financial vocabulary, including “asset,” “inflation,” “salary,” “investing,” and “currency,” which helps you discuss the topic beyond basic terms. There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “value of money” and “buying assets for future.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “practices with saving money has been overtime,” “value of money is falctuating,” and “highly effected by dollar flatuation.” Spelling errors such as “wether,” “prcatices,” and “pricess” also reduce precision. Aim for standard financial collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “the value of the currency fluctuates” and “is affected by changes in the dollar’s value.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “as” and “if,” and the reader can generally understand your main point. However, sentence control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. For example, “as the world changing, inflation started to rise” lacks a finite verb in the opening clause, while “people invest more than only saving” has an unclear grammatical comparison. There are also errors in articles, agreement, and punctuation, such as “Saving money for future has seen to been common practice” and the lower-case sentence openings after full stops. These issues sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Build accuracy by using shorter sentences for key claims, then check verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries before adding more complex clauses.
