Student answer (Band 6.5)
Some individuals contend that it is crucial for every person, including young individuals, to save money for their upoming life. I partially agree with this statement and the reasons will be discussed in the following paragraphs.
To begin with, indeed saving money is essential and good habit because it helps people to secure their future life in a number of ways. Moreover, having saved money may relax individuals because they will already know that they have money and they do not have to borrow them from anyone else in case of emergencies. Subsequently, they can help needy people by giving them a loan which fosters healthy relationships and connections among individuals. They can support their good lifestyles and invest in education and some side business(s). For instance, when I started a job, I started saving some amount of money from my salary and helped a lot of needy people and invested in a property business, which gave me a lot of profit. There is not any stress on me regarding my financial conditions.
On the other hand, saving too much is sometimes disadvantageous because some people save money in their personal homes which can be stolen or robbed. To illustrate, in my town, this happened a lot of times, robbers came and robbed all the money on a gunpoint. Similarly, some people prefer to save a substantial amount of money in the banks, which imposes heavy tax over saving such a significant amount. Moreover, there are some strict policies we need to follow such as we have to declare the source of income and relevant documentation. For example, there are authorities in Pakistan which file a case and imposed heavy tax over financial assets.
To conclude, everyone ought to be save money but moderatly to avoid future's unfavourable circumstances. They should spend money on the things and activities that are imperative and make them feel happy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you partially agree, and the conclusion recommends saving moderately. You address both the benefits and drawbacks, with relevant examples such as saving from your salary, investing in property, theft at home, and banking rules in Pakistan. This covers the task well. However, the discussion is uneven: the benefits are supported with several outcomes, while the drawbacks focus mainly on risks and taxes, without explaining when or why these outweigh the benefits. The point about lending to needy people is also not clearly connected to saving for one’s own future. To strengthen the response, explain your degree of agreement more precisely and develop the counterargument and its relevance to young people.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The progression from advantages to disadvantages is easy to follow, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help guide the reader. Some linking is mechanical, however, particularly the repeated use of “Moreover” and “For instance.” Within the first body paragraph, several benefits are listed without a clear hierarchy, so the relationship between saving, lending, lifestyle, education, and business investment is not always explicit. The conclusion also introduces spending on happiness without linking this idea back to the discussion. Use referencing and transitions more selectively, and organise each paragraph around a central claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “secure their future,” “emergencies,” “substantial amount,” “financial assets,” and “unfavourable circumstances.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “upoming life,” “borrow them,” “good lifestyles,” and “heavy tax over saving.” There are also spelling errors, including “moderatly,” and the phrase “business(s)” is not appropriate in this context. These issues do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Aim to learn common financial collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “because,” “which,” and “when.” Most ideas remain understandable, and the longer sentences show an attempt to express relationships between causes and results. Some grammatical errors persist, however. For example, “everyone ought to be save money” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “robbers came and robbed” shifts awkwardly into the past within a general example. There are also issues with articles and number, as in “essential and good habit,” and with sentence construction in “there are authorities in Pakistan which file a case and imposed heavy tax.” Review verb patterns after modal expressions, maintain consistent tense, and check agreement and article use.
