Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is necessary for people including all ages to save money to make a better future for them while some arguing that spending money and enjoying life is much better than saving it while i strongly agreed to save money for future. This essay will explain why saving money is better for people.
On the one hand, one major reason for saving money for future is that if we will make a large amount with us from saving even 10% of our expenses in every month, in the coming time we can create a small business for us which then can be grow and can be converted to large business. This will effect our future and also be valuable for our next generation. For example, my friend did the same from the last four years and now he has started a small business. Additionally, one other factor is that we can also travel the world by saving less amount from our daily costs and then we can plan for some international trips, this will be a psoitive impact on our lives and we can explore new destinations. For example, my cousin is saving 20% of his salary and then he plan a trip with his friends and in their vacation they make it real.
On the other hand, one negative impact of spending money and not saving it for future is that if you have a job and you are not thinking of saving some percentage of your wage and if your job finish suddenly so you will be empty handed, this will also affect your presence and you will not be able to live life. For example, my small brother had a job in UAE and his company terminated him and then he had nothing in hands. Furthermore, you will be the same in future as you are now if you don't want to save money and will never explore the new places. For example, my cousin has a good job but he is spending all his money on him and not saving money for future so he is not able go

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you strongly support saving, and you give relevant reasons, including starting a business, travelling, and having money available after job loss. The examples about your friend and brother help connect these points to real situations. This addresses the task, but the discussion is uneven: the first body paragraph also presents travel as a benefit of saving, while the second focuses on the risks of spending everything, and the final example about your cousin is left unfinished. Some claims, such as saving leading to a business that grows for the next generation, need more explanation. Develop each main point fully and make the conclusion explicit so the response feels complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction and two body paragraphs, and signposting such as “On the one hand,” “Additionally,” and “Furthermore” helps show how points relate. However, progression is sometimes mechanical: several ideas are added through “For example” without enough explanation of how they support the main argument. The first body paragraph combines business creation and travel, which would be clearer as separate, developed points. Some references are also difficult to follow, such as “this will also affect your presence,” and the final sentence stops before completing the idea. Organise each paragraph around one central point, use clearer links between claim and example, and finish the argument with a concise conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “saving,” “expenses,” “salary,” “business,” and “terminated.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “international trips” and “explore new destinations.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural or obscure meaning: “make a large amount with us,” “valuable for our next generation,” and “empty handed.” Spelling errors such as “psoitive” also reduce accuracy. Aim to learn common financial collocations and choose precise wording rather than repeating general terms such as “money” and “future.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if you have a job … and if your job finish suddenly” and clauses explaining consequences. This shows an effort to express relationships between ideas. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction can make the reader work to understand the meaning. For example, “if we will make” should use a present form after “if,” while “can be grow” needs a passive form such as “can grow” or “can be developed.” The final sentence is also incomplete. Practise accurate conditional patterns and check each sentence for a clear subject, verb, and complete ending.
