Student answer (Band 5.5)

saving money for the future is important for people of all ages including young people , I strongly agree with this statement because saving money can help us in unforseen event or unexpected expenses and achieve their goals

firstly, saving money it helps in unexpected need ,for instance if someone loses their job or medical treatment they can use saving money without borrowing money form friends or banks .furthermore if we get any opportunity we can easily avail by using this amount such as investment , or insurance opportunity

Secondly, saving money helps young people prepare for their future. They can use their savings to pay for higher education, buy a house, or start a business. Therefore, developing good saving habits at an early age can make their future more secure however they can get a opportunity in future for career for example if they can study abroad in future they can use saving for abroad study which also helps in career point of view ,

in conclusion , i strongly agree that everyone including young people must save money because it provide you financial security in future and helps them to achieve their goals

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that people, including young people, should save, and you give relevant reasons about emergencies and future goals. Examples such as losing a job, medical treatment, higher education, and studying abroad help address the question. However, the response only partially develops these ideas: the investment and insurance point is unclear, and the examples are mostly listed rather than explained to show how saving benefits people. The conclusion repeats your view but does not add much. The response is also 55 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasons. Explain one or two examples in more detail and connect them directly to your argument.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs introduced by “firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, “furthermore” introduces an opportunity point that does not clearly follow from the emergency example, while “however” in the second body paragraph does not express a clear contrast. The second body paragraph also combines several ideas in a long sequence, making the progression harder to track. Use linking phrases only when their logical relationship is clear, and give each main reason a focused explanation before moving to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “unexpected expenses,” “higher education,” “financial security,” and “achieve their goals.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “medical treatment” and “start a business.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “unexpected need,” “avail by using this amount,” and “career point of view.” Spelling and form errors such as “unforseen” and “form friends” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully; for example, explain that savings can “cover emergency costs” or “fund further education” rather than relying on vague wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional example (“if someone loses their job”) and a sentence explaining how early saving can support future plans. Meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems remain. For example, “saving money it helps” has an unnecessary subject, and “because it provide you financial security” has a subject–verb agreement error and an unclear shift in pronouns. The sentence beginning “therefore, developing good saving habits” becomes difficult to control as more clauses are added. Use complete, clearly structured sentences, check agreement and articles, and separate long ideas with full stops. This will make your argument easier to read while preserving your attempts at complex structures.
