Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You take a clear position in favour of saving, especially for young people, and give relevant reasons: savings can support a family, help during business or employment difficulties, and provide funds for investment. The personal example about selling the gold you received as a gift also illustrates regret at not keeping an asset that later could have increased in value. These points address the question, but they are not all developed equally. The discussion of spendthrift and frugal people is broad and does not clearly explain why everyone should save, while the investment point is only briefly mentioned. To strengthen the response, explain each reason more fully and connect it directly to the claim that saving is important for people of all ages.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is an overall movement from general observations about spending to the benefits of saving, then to young people and a personal example. This gives the reader a basic sense of direction, and phrases such as “first of all” and “in my own life” signal stages of the response. However, the ideas are crowded into long, loosely connected sections, with little clear paragraphing or progression within them. Repeated links such as “and” and “but” often join several different points, and references such as “in this situation” are not always easy to follow. Use distinct paragraphs for your position, main reasons, and example, and make each paragraph develop one central idea with clearer links between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “spendthrift,” “frugal,” “emergency,” “investing,” and “profit.” These choices show an attempt to discuss saving and financial planning rather than relying only on very basic terms. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “give us leacture,” “loss in our business,” and “gain triple profit of its original value.” Spelling errors, including “isuue,” “forfather,” and “socity,” also distract the reader. Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing savings, financial security, and investment, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to express reasons and conditions, for example with “when we save money” and “if we can lose in our business,” and you include both simple statements and longer sentences. However, sentence structures are often incomplete or joined without clear punctuation, which makes relationships between ideas difficult to follow. There are also recurring problems with verb forms, agreement, articles, and tense, as in “it is become,” “he do,” and “a person who have money.” The personal example shifts between past and present forms without a consistent timeline. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using controlled clauses. Pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement, past-tense narration, and sentence boundaries.
