Student answer (Band 5.5)

There is a controversy about saving a money. Some argue that it is crucial for everybody, including adeloscents, to save money for their long-terms. I partially agree with this statement. Although save money for difficult time period is benefical, some time try new trends instead of thinking and saving for future is also beneficial for human being health.

On the one hand, many people in our society try to save alot of money for their future but they do not try new opportunities, enjoy their lives freedomly because they spend all of their time on making budgets for their home groceries, shopping etc. Furthermore, people who spent their money on travelling and exposure new things may lives more happily. For example, in Pakistan most inhabitants spent their budget on trips and when they came back to their work they feel fresh and motivate for more earning.

On the other hand, if individuals is not save money for their future, they may suffer in their difficult time like if a peson lost their job they took time to search for another job in this situation saving helps to manage their needs. Most people spend to much money on unnessary things like to much shopping and home decoration things without any reason they in difficult time when they not have much money they survive very hardly. For instance, in covid-19 pandemic most people had not much money for survival they taken loan from thier realtives and friends to fulfil their needs.

In conclusion, there is an onging debate about saving money, I partilly agree with this statement. Saving for difficult time period is very vital for human beings because this saving help in their future needs. However, aviod all new things and think too much beforbuying thing is make people in depression.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you partially agree, supporting saving for emergencies while also valuing enjoyable experiences. Both sides are relevant, and the examples about job loss and the pandemic help explain why savings matter. This addresses the task, but the two sides are not developed equally clearly. The argument that trying new things benefits people’s health is asserted rather than explained, and the Pakistan travel example does not fully show why spending instead of saving is beneficial. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation and a more directly relevant example, then make your final judgement about how people should balance saving and spending more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the direction of the argument easy to follow. However, some connections within paragraphs are less clear, particularly where the discussion moves from budgeting to travel and then to motivation. The long sentence about losing a job also makes the relationship between the situation and the benefit of savings harder to follow. Use shorter, more clearly linked sentences, and make references such as “this saving” precise. This would make the progression smoother without changing the effective paragraph structure.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “save money,” “future,” “opportunities,” “travelling,” and “loan,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “difficult time period.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making ideas less natural: “enjoy their lives freedomly,” “exposure new things,” and “survive very hardly.” Spelling errors such as “adeloscents,” “benefical,” and “unnessary” also stand out. Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing financial security and wellbeing, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help express your ideas clearly and naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if a person lost their job” and clauses introduced by “although” and “because.” This shows some range, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “Although save money … is beneficial” needs a correctly formed clause, while “if individuals is not save” has problems with both agreement and verb form. In “people who spent their money … may lives,” the verb pattern is also incorrect. Some long sentences combine several ideas without clear punctuation, which can obscure meaning. Practise building accurate conditional and relative clauses, and review subject–verb agreement and verb patterns.
