Student answer (Band 5.0)

Saving money has always been a delimma for everyone including young people especially for their future plans and goals.

In my opinion, I believe that not wasting money is significant for all people but most importantly newer generation because doing it at a young age will help them deal with a lot of opstacles at an older age. For instance, humans who used to save money when they were young using piggybanks, is easier for them to do it as adults, because they have been raised doing it which was scietofically proven, so they had acquired the skill. As for parents who support their children saving money to buy their own needs.

However, on the other hand, there is this new idea which argues that living the moment and not thinking about tommorow that has been applied by teenagers and university students which makes them wasting all their money on unnecessiray things just because they like them. Moreover, the influence of social media, the newely trends and algorithem that are appearing, affet the young generation specially thinking to buy stuffs without any need. as an example, when ypou are thinking about something and you use your phone, ADs will show you the same things you are thinking about, so you will be influenced to buy the, and here comes the waste of money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You take a broadly clear position in favour of saving, especially for young people, and give relevant reasons: saving early can build a habit, while social media advertising can encourage unnecessary spending. The piggybank example and phone-advertising scenario help make these points concrete. However, the response addresses the issue only partially: the first reason is not fully explained, and the sentence about parents supporting children is unfinished and does not develop an argument. The opposing view is introduced but not clearly weighed against your own position, and the conclusion stops at “All in all, we all know that money is,” leaving your answer incomplete. The response is also 18 words below the required minimum. Develop each reason with a clear explanation and finish with a direct conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: you begin with your view, move to a contrasting perspective, and attempt a concluding paragraph. Linking expressions such as “For instance,” “However,” and “Moreover” show an effort to connect ideas. However, progression is not consistently clear. “However, on the other hand” repeats the contrast, and the paragraph about saving shifts abruptly to an incomplete sentence about parents. The final paragraph contains only an unfinished opening, so it cannot summarise the argument. Some references are also unclear, such as “doing it” and “the same things you are thinking about.” Use one clear topic sentence per paragraph, connect each example explicitly to its main point, and complete the conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “save money,” “future plans and goals,” “influence of social media,” and “unnecessary things.” These choices make the general subject understandable. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors or imprecise expressions make the writing less clear, including “delimma,” “opstacles,” “scietofically,” and “algorithem.” Phrases such as “newely trends,” “buy stuffs,” and “wasting all our money” are also inaccurate or informal for this essay. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, you could describe social media as “targeted advertising” and say that it “encourages impulsive purchases,” rather than relying on broad or conversational wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a reason-and-result structure in “because doing it at a young age will help them…” and a conditional example beginning “when you are thinking about something.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “humans who used to save money when they were young … is easier for them” has a subject–verb agreement problem and an unclear construction; “which makes them wasting” uses an incorrect verb pattern. The sentence beginning “As for parents” is incomplete, and the final sentence is also unfinished. Work on complete sentence structure, agreement, and verb patterns such as “makes them waste,” then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
