Student answer (Band 6.5)

Some people argue that it is essential for everyone to save finances for their future, particularly young individuals. I strongly agree with this view, as prior financial management help people to protect their future from any health crisis and major losses.

Firstly, many young people would love to enjoy thier lives to the fullest with the money they recently started earning, but it is also crucial for people to save money from an early age. In today's world due to many reasons people face unexpected health issues which need immediate attention. In such situations having finaces in savings help them address the issue prominently. For example, if a person has an heart attack, to treat this problem he must have good savings to get operated at a good hospital without worrying about money. By saving money from young age many individuals can live a healthy and happy life.

Secondly, after a certain age many individuals take a risk to improve there financial condition. A number of people start their own business with huge risk lined up. Due to some fundamental reasons if the idea fails, there must be a financial backup so that they would not loose their stability. For instance, if a person starts his own clothing business and unfortunately could not succeed, having money saved up will help him survive. This results in secure future for many people including thier families.

In conclusion, Although spending money on things that a person like is a liberty, I believe that having a good financial planning is important to secure a better future, which helps you in unexpected health problems and business failures.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

Your position is clear from the introduction—“I strongly agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the importance of saving with two relevant reasons: meeting unexpected healthcare costs and providing a financial safety net if a business fails. The examples of heart treatment and a clothing business make these points concrete, and the response develops both sides of your argument sufficiently. To strengthen the discussion further, explain more precisely how starting to save early benefits young people over time, rather than relying mainly on broad claims such as “live a healthy and happy life.” The business example could also clarify why savings matter to young people specifically. Overall, the task is addressed clearly, with some scope for more precise development.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The essay has a clear overall progression: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” guide the reader through this structure, while examples follow the points they support. This makes the argument easy to follow. Some linking is a little mechanical, however, and a few connections between ideas could be made more explicit. For example, the move from enjoying newly earned money to the need for health savings would be smoother if you directly contrasted short-term spending with long-term security. The final sentence also combines several ideas; dividing or reshaping it would give the conclusion a cleaner finish.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “financial backup,” “unexpected health issues,” “financial condition,” and “secure future.” These expressions help communicate the main ideas, and the examples are generally understandable. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or imprecise, such as “save finances,” “address the issue prominently,” and “a risk … with huge risk lined up.” Spelling errors, including “thier,” “finaces,” and “loose” where you mean “lose,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary for savings, medical expenses, and business risk would make the argument sound more fluent and controlled.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if the idea fails” and a subordinate clause beginning “Although spending money…”. Most sentences communicate your meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “prior financial management help” needs subject–verb agreement (“helps”), and “an heart attack” requires the article “a.” In “having finances in savings help them,” the gerund phrase takes a singular verb (“helps”). The conclusion’s “things that a person like” also needs agreement (“likes”). Review articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, especially in longer sentences. Greater accuracy across these patterns would make your otherwise clear argument more polished.
