Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is often argued that it is significant for individuals , including teenagers, to save money for their future. In my opinion, everyone including every age group should save up money for their life ahead.
One of the main reason for this is that your savings can guide you how to use your money wisely without taking any impulsive decisions. This is because once you start saving you are more aware of the value of money in your life for example economizing money since the age of 15 or 16 can help you save a lot which can be used for investments in your early twenties. Furthermore, developing the habit of saving money helps young people become financially responsible. They learn to distinguish between their needs and wants and avoid spending money on unnecessary products.
Another important reason why saving moeny is essential is that it provides financial securing during unexpected situations. This is because not everyone in the world is financially well off to afford everything. For instance, you have an unexpected accident in a different country and you have no one to ask help for your savings could help you pay all the practitioner expenses or a loss that happened while that accident took place. Therefore, having the habit of saving can make you a little independent when you or your family are going through a bad time.
In conclusion, i believe that people should start calculating their needs and wants to save up for their future life for a betterment or a hard time. Although, in the short term it must be hard to have self control about the things you like however, in the long term these savings could help you in many ways.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that people of all ages should save for the future, and the conclusion reinforces this view. You address the prompt with two relevant reasons: saving encourages responsible spending and can provide support in unexpected circumstances. The examples about starting to save at 15 or 16 and facing an accident abroad help extend these points. However, the first example’s link to investment is brief, and the accident scenario is somewhat over-generalised and awkwardly explained. Develop these examples with clearer, more specific details—for instance, how savings could cover emergency travel or medical costs—and explain the consequences. This would make the support more consistently convincing and fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The ideas progress logically, and signposting such as “One of the main reason,” “Another important reason,” and “In conclusion” makes the organisation easy to follow. You also use linking expressions including “Furthermore” and “Therefore.” At times, however, the repeated “This is because” makes the explanation feel mechanical, while the long accident example is difficult to follow because several ideas are packed into one sentence. Use a wider range of transitions and divide complex explanations into shorter, clearly connected sentences. The conclusion also introduces “calculating their needs and wants” without clearly linking this phrase to the earlier arguments.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “financially responsible,” “impulsive decisions,” “investments,” and “unexpected situations.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and the meaning is generally clear. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “financial securing,” “practitioner expenses,” and “a loss that happened while that accident took place.” There are also spelling and form slips, including “moeny” and “economizing money.” Aim for more precise, natural expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, “financial security,” “medical expenses,” and “save money” would express your intended meanings more clearly and appropriately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “because,” “although,” and “however,” and most of your meaning remains understandable. Some grammatical errors occur, but they rarely prevent the reader from following your argument. Examples include the singular-plural mismatch in “One of the main reason,” the unclear construction “guide you how to use,” and the run-on structure in the accident example beginning “For instance, you have an unexpected accident.” The final sentence also needs clearer punctuation and clause structure around “Although.” Review subject–verb agreement, sentence boundaries, and how subordinate clauses are joined. Breaking longer sentences into two well-formed sentences would improve accuracy without limiting your range.
