Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is important for every person, including young adults, to save money for their future. I strongly agree with this statement because saving money for future may allow them to achieve their little dreams and it can be used in emergency situations.

On the right hand, money plays a significant role in our daily lives although we can buy our Daily needs by money. It is essential for everyone to save money especially for young adults because it can give them opportunities to fulfil their needs. Beside that, it can also helps enough in certain danger. For example, in Sweden, children has given charity to help disabled people and some other children brought computers and other things for their happiness. As a result, the community improved a lot and the children gained respect in the society.

On the other hand, some people suffer from their Daily needs because of a lack of money including juveniles. Those young people who always spend money on unnecessary things often has to face different challenges. For example, in North Korea, most children spend their money on random things like food and when it comes to certain circumstances such as treatment, tuition fee etc. Then they cannot able to pay those bills. Thus, some parents had to work harder for their bills and those children who are orphans always struggle.

From my perspective, I believe that saving money has several advantages for every person including young adults because it can give access to fulfil their needs and it is also necessary when people fall in a certain danger.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that saving is important, and you give two relevant reasons—meeting personal goals and having money available in emergencies. However, the development is uneven and some examples do not clearly prove the point. The Sweden example focuses on children giving charity or buying items, rather than explaining how saving helps them prepare for the future. The North Korea example is also difficult to connect to the claim, and the discussion of parents and orphans is not fully explained. To strengthen the response, explain each reason step by step and use a specific, plausible example, such as savings helping a young person pay for education or unexpected medical costs.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the contrast between the body paragraphs is signalled by “On the other hand.” This gives the reader a basic route through your ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from daily needs to danger, then to charity and children’s purchases without showing how these points connect. “On the right hand” is also an inaccurate transition, and “Then” begins a fragment-like sentence after the North Korea example. Use topic sentences that state one main reason, then develop it with explanation and a directly relevant example. Clearer links between claims and examples would make the organisation more convincing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “emergency situations,” “unnecessary things,” “challenges” and “orphan,” and the main meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, which sometimes makes the examples harder to follow. For instance, “little dreams” is vague, “helps enough in certain danger” does not express the intended idea clearly, and “random things like food” is an unsuitable description of spending. There are also inconsistent capitalisations such as “Daily.” Aim for precise topic vocabulary and natural collocations, such as “financial goals,” “unexpected expenses” and “save for education.” Check that each chosen word accurately describes the example.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a relative clause beginning “Those young people who…”. However, errors occur frequently and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “it can also helps,” “children has given,” and “often has to face,” where verb forms or subject–verb agreement are incorrect. The sentence “Then they cannot able to pay those bills” combines incompatible verb forms, while “when it comes to certain circumstances” is not formed accurately. Practise checking the subject and verb in each clause, and use one correct modal pattern, such as “cannot pay.” Breaking long or unclear sentences into shorter ones will also improve control.
