Student answer (Band 4.0)
It is undeniably crucial for every human being, including young generation of people, to have savings for their future. Yes, I totally agree with this statement, as money plays a vital role in shaping people's lives; we require money in every aspect, especially during hard times. As a person grows, their needs and wants also grow; having a good amount of savings helps. A person's health is indeed very unpredictable
So, if one has to get treated with good healthcare, we require money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You state a clear position—“I totally agree”—and give a relevant reason: savings can help meet healthcare costs when a person’s health is unpredictable. However, the response addresses the task only minimally. The healthcare point is introduced but not explained with a specific example or further consequences, and there is no second reason or discussion of why saving matters to young people in particular. The response also stops before developing a complete argument and does not meet the required minimum of 250 words. To strengthen your answer, explain how savings provide security in emergencies, education, or later life, support each point with an example, and maintain your position throughout a full essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The ideas follow a basic, understandable sequence: you introduce agreement, mention that needs increase with age, and then give healthcare as an example. The phrase “So” signals a connection between unpredictable health and the need for money. However, the response is too brief to show clear overall progression, and the ideas are not separated into purposeful paragraphs. The sentence “As a person grows, their needs and wants also grow; having a good amount of savings helps” is left general, without explaining how it connects to the healthcare example. Develop a clear introduction, separate body paragraphs for distinct reasons, and a conclusion. Use linking phrases to show relationships between fully explained points rather than relying on a single transition.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “savings,” “vital role,” “hard times,” and “healthcare,” so the main message is clear. There is also an attempt to express emphasis through “undeniably crucial” and “totally agree.” However, the range is limited by the short response, and some expressions are awkward or imprecise: “young generation of people” is not a natural way to refer to young people, while “a good amount of savings” is less precise than language such as an emergency fund or financial security. Build a wider set of topic-specific terms and use natural collocations. For example, you could discuss unexpected expenses, financial independence, or long-term goals, then use them in developed examples.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Your meaning is generally understandable, and you attempt more than simple sentences, including the conditional structure “if one has to get treated with good healthcare.” The opening also uses a clear infinitive phrase, “to have savings for their future.” However, the range remains narrow, and several sentence boundaries and patterns need more control. “A person’s health is indeed very unpredictable” is followed by a new sentence beginning “So,” but the relationship would be clearer if the ideas were joined or punctuated as a complete paragraph. In “if one has to get treated …, we require money,” the subject shifts from “one” to “we.” Practise consistent subjects and varied complex structures, and check punctuation when connecting related ideas.
