Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I strongly accord with this notion”) and conclusion, and you address the central question by explaining benefits for both people generally and young people. The examples of medical bills, job loss and home repairs make the emergency-savings point relevant, while education and reduced reliance on parents are appropriate reasons for young people to save. Some ideas, however, are less fully developed than others: the claims about financial security and independence are repeated but not explained with a specific consequence or example. To strengthen the response, extend each main reason with a clearer explanation of how saving produces the stated benefit, and make the discussion of young people’s future more specific.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around benefits, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “Another important benefit” help readers follow the main points. However, some linking is mechanical, and ideas within the second body paragraph overlap: financial independence is mentioned more than once, followed by the similar point about living independently. The opening sentence about emergencies also repeats the introduction’s main idea. Improve progression by grouping related points, removing repetition, and using clearer references between sentences. A more developed transition from general savings benefits to the particular needs of young people would also make the argument flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “unexpected emergencies,” “medical bills,” “financial security,” and “higher education,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts to express more specific concepts, such as financial independence and managing finances. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “strongly accord with this notion,” “financial independency,” and “having saving money.” Repetition of “future,” “save money,” and “independent” also limits flexibility. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check word forms: for example, use “strongly agree with this view,” “financial independence,” and “having savings.” More precise vocabulary would help express the benefits without repeating the same terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including conditional and subordinate structures, as in “If someone suddenly ill, they can use save money…” and “because they do not always need to rely on their parents.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in verb forms, sentence construction, agreement, articles and punctuation occur across the response. For instance, “saving money helping them” needs a finite verb, and “If someone suddenly ill” is missing a verb; “As a results” also has an agreement error. Some sentences combine clauses awkwardly, and commas or full stops are not always used effectively. Practise building accurate complex sentences, then proofread each sentence for a complete verb structure and correct punctuation.
