Student answer (Band 5.5)

The world has been changing drastically over the years and will continue to do so. Daily expenses has increased and money has become important. It is crucial for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future. i couldn't agree more on this topic as money has become very expensive now.

we use money frequently in every aspect of our life. Ranging from normal household purpose to big business deals, money is used everywhere. Their is no any age criteria for us to use money, people of every age have full rights to use money on their own will. Beacuse of this there is a trend of giving pocket money also known as monthly allowence to the childrens by their parents. However. it is not guranteed that each of the child is spending money wisely. For instance, some children are investing their money on things that are injurious to their health. In this type of cases the money is being wasted as it is being used for unwanted purpose.

Moreover, the habit of saving money prevents those incidents and helps the children to know the value of money side by side. If they learn how to save money in an early age it would be more beneficial and easier for them in the future. For example, they would have saved enough money for themselves to invest in some business or other required sectors. They can be free from loads and pressure people face when they take loans from banks. Saving money from an early age gives you alot of releif when you grow older.

In conclusion, the habit of saving money can play an vital role in our lives in any emergencies. We can use our own savings rather than borrowing or begging people to give us some amount. Hence, each one of us should develop a habit of saving money and inspire other to do the same.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that saving is important, and you give relevant reasons, including learning the value of money, preparing for emergencies, and avoiding loans. The examples about children spending pocket money unwisely and saving for a future business help connect the argument to young people. However, the response only partly develops the task: the discussion focuses mainly on children, while the claim concerns everyone, and the benefits for adults are mostly confined to emergencies and borrowing. Some claims, such as saving preventing children from spending on harmful things, need clearer explanation. To strengthen the response, develop a distinct reason that applies to adults as well and explain each example more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally move from the use of money to the benefits of saving, and signposts such as “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help show the direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose: the point about people of every age having the right to spend money does not clearly lead to the discussion of pocket money. Some linking is mechanical, and the repeated use of “money” and “saving money” makes connections feel repetitive. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as in “those incidents,” which does not specify exactly which incidents. Make each paragraph’s main point explicit and use more precise links between claims and examples.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including relevant terms such as “household,” “business deals,” “invest,” “emergencies” and “loans.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “the value of money” and “financial pressure” (expressed as “loads and pressure”). However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “money has become very expensive,” “household purpose,” and “investing their money on things.” Spelling errors such as “allowence,” “guranteed” and “releif” are noticeable and reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise financial vocabulary and check spelling; for example, distinguish rising living costs from money itself becoming expensive.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and longer sentences, including conditional forms such as “If they learn how to save money … it would be more beneficial” and a relative clause in “things that are injurious to their health.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to follow. Examples include the subject–verb disagreement in “Daily expenses has increased,” the incorrect construction “Their is no any age criteria,” and the sentence fragment “Ranging from normal household purpose to big business deals.” Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “However.” followed by a new sentence. Practise accurate agreement, articles and complete sentence structures, then proofread punctuation.
