Student answer (Band 6.0)

Money is very important for people to meet their daily needs. Some people argue that it is beneficial for young generation to save money for their future needs and expenses. In my opinion, it is necessary for young adults to plan their future expenses and save some money which may help them in studies, business or at the time of emergency.

In the modern age, a person cannot do anything without proper financial resources, continuous rise in inflation has made saving money very important and difficult. For example, a young person is aware of the importance of saving but in the rising inflation he is barely able to maintain his household in his income. Even then saving a small amount regularly can help people prepare for unexpected expenses such as sudden health emergency. Saving money can reduce people dependence on each other and it will help them prevent borrowing money for their basic needs and falling in debts.

On the other hand, everyone need money rather it students, graduates or entrepreneurs. Students need finances to pay their university fees and their other daily expenses like buying books and notes. Students should do part time jobs and save some income which may help them in becoming independent instead of asking their parents for money. Moreover, their are many enrapreneurs who use their own personal saving in establishing their businesses. Saving money in the early age help people to spend responsibly instead of wasting their money. For example, if a students save money he can fund his higher education in the university of his choice studying a course which may provide better future opportunities.

In conclusion, I strongly agree that young people should plan their expenses and save them for the better future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that young people should save, and you give relevant reasons involving emergencies, education, independence and starting a business. The examples about saving for university costs and using personal savings to establish a business help address the question directly. This meets the task well, but the support is uneven: the point about inflation and household costs is introduced without explaining how young people can realistically save in that situation, and the business example is brief. To develop the response further, explain one or two examples in more detail and acknowledge a relevant qualification, such as the difficulty of saving on a low income, while maintaining your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons, and the conclusion restates your position. Ideas generally progress from financial security to education and business, and linking phrases such as “For example,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “On the other hand” suggests a contrast, although the paragraph continues to support saving, and “everyone need money rather it students…” does not clearly connect to the preceding point. Improve cohesion by using transitions that show addition or explanation, and make each paragraph’s central idea explicit before developing its examples.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “inflation,” “unexpected expenses,” “independent,” “university fees” and “establishing their businesses.” These choices make the financial focus clear, and some phrases show an attempt to use more precise language. At times, however, word choice and collocation are inaccurate or repetitive: “falling in debts,” “save them for the better future” and repeated uses of “money” sound unnatural. There are also spelling errors, including “enrapreneurs.” Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling carefully; more precise alternatives will make your argument sound more fluent without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including a relative clause in “which may help them” and a conditional example beginning “if a students save money.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “everyone need” should be “everyone needs,” and “Saving money…help people” needs “helps.” The sentence beginning “In the modern age” joins two independent ideas with a comma, so use a full stop or a suitable conjunction. Articles and plurals also need attention in “a students” and “in the early age.” Review subject–verb agreement, sentence boundaries and article use, then proofread to catch these patterns.
